Hi Bemac , I have been trading my hybrid MuddBuddha/4H Tunnel with reasonable success but have for a long time been interested in such BB systems (esp Volatility BreakOut approaches) as an alternative method in my FX toolkit given I cannot rely on markets putting in sweeping trends that often.
# I have like Rip been interested in the work of Boris Schlossberg and would be very pleased to have this double BB as an indicator.
# I have also been following the HAT method in another FF thread which looks promising for the same purpose and is easily set up on VT.
# I have been looking at the work of Philippe Cahen ( Dynamic Technical Analysis ) who is Head of Technical Analysis Credit Lyonnais who advocates a special BB/MACD method . But his latest book has not been translated yet and my French is purely tourist !! So it is difficult to progress.
# Worth mentioning in a similar vein is the Bollinger Band + Keltner Band method where when the BB move inside the KC this implies a tight ranging market and when they move out again this is the trigger for a Volatility Breakout trade. Claude did a similar indicator for VT (EJ Squeeze) which might be worthy of note. However, the original ' Squeeze indicator' developed by Herbert Senter is proprietary and versions sold for eSignal & TradeStation but his partner John Carter did outline the specifics in his book 'Mastering the Trade' ( CH10) and invited programmers to copy it. However, you need to be aware that VT(Forum) were not prepared to replicate it, despite what was said in the above book, without written permission from the author(s).
