A statement and begs the question I have long thought over, regards FX.

It seems that someone or something likes 'candle to candle' lines. I don't think of them ever as S/R S/D etc . To me they are just Targets.

The prob a lot of people have with the concept is they might think that a target is a final ending place. And therefore reverses.
May be true around 50% of the time, much the same as most indis etc get in their 'predictiveness'.

But if a target was a place that someone or something was "going to'. Well couldn't that mean something else other than what to do when it arrives ?

All a bit of fx-fun.

I'm guessing no one said that, you just wanted to have a shot at S/R?

I've taken the view (rightly or wrongly) that the S/R we see all over the charts is evidence of price manipulation.

Here is an example, of 200 pip target.

Just how frequently and dependently, the price reaches the next 200 pips target?
Timing to the next 200 pips, seems to be working like a Swiss clock, although trades are not time-based opened...
It is weird how every next 200 pips target opens up similar number of trades and lots, is not it?

If members of this forum are not brave enough to answer this question or at least candidly tell what the forum told us. What hope is there in any discussion.

There is no right or wrong aud, we are all on our own working fx out pal.

Why I do not support the concept of Support & Resistance as such, is, with hours and hours of thinking, I couldn't satisfy myself just who was doing the supporting and who was doing the resisting. And when trading it served me no advantage (personally, I mean) to wonder who might be supporting price here, or resisting price there. Then they 'taught' me that support can flip to resistance etc. And I said "enough" lol. Targets, the 'a going somewhere' for price, worked better in my old (horseracing) brain.

Each to their own in how they see it of course.


(AUDUSD update from the chart above, a new target reached, the 1hr candle from 13:00 chart time on 10 Mar 21 - why was that a target, more targets to come further ?)


imho Manipulation has too much of a negative connotation to it.

Orchestration suits me better (and best we not discuss the conductor of the orchestra ).

PLUS

I don';t actually think FX could operate functionally without it.

It is also unclear to me where this thread is going, but when I see that:

- Mr. 10000USD/pip (you know, the guy who rocks) is around and

- MoneyZilla is around and

- Aussi is lurking and trolling Andy AAAANNNNDDDDD

(but yes imo to your last sentence re random).


With Support & Resistance there is always the underlying expectation that something will happen at that SR line.

For me, with targets, its more about price getting to that line, rather than what might happen when price gets there.



Price changes.

And traders, I guess are focused on price and its movements, with their own expectation.


We are back to I guess,

does price encourage liquidity, or does liquidity chase price?

WHO is doing all that supporting and who is doing all that resisting?

Its trapped bankers avoiding large draw downs by adding to their position at key levels, to encourage smaller traders to support their position.

Therefore its not market manipulation but banker "fuck up".

I can see 1 large transactions on EURUSD 3 hours ago at 1.1919 which was a large Buy order from a big player - they got smashed.
The manipulation is an attempt by them to save their skin by stopping price before the breakout boys enter pass a support level -

BUT TOO LATE THEY GOT CRUSHED BY A STAMPEDE
And you think retail traders worry about losing a few dollars - Bankers aren't that lucky.
