Hi Radityo,
I've been following your thread since the start! I finally managed to sign up
I've been backtesting the first version of the ea you uploaded for a while, and after hours of testing! I can now say never trust backtesting! waste of time, different result in each broker even though same sittings and same conditions! but I also tried it in demo, and it seems to be working good.
may I ask you for the dropbox link for the last version, I didn't manage to find it! hope its not trouble!
also I've been looking for a broker, what do guys think of XM, apparently they have 888:1 leverage and vps is also included, which is great for the ea, but closing orders seems to be very slow!
do you think it would affect the system alot?

Hmmmm. The best suggestion I have is to try and force fixed lots, or potentially increasing the capital from 500 to 1000.?

Hello Radityo,
Many thanks for your excellent EA, still lot to learn. Today I tested on my demo account about 10 hours from 9AM to 7PM, GMT +3. Used 5M TF, 03-05, lots. O.5 lot size was too risky. Managed to ascheve from USD 390 to USD 680, pretty good .

This system should be profitable on ranging market and could hurt on choppy session? Is it right?

The best hours should be London/NY and the worse on Sydney?

I will start testing now, but if you could share your experience is very welcome.

Great work radityo, congrats.

it is not the EA that is not working with other pairs. It is the settings that will not work on other pair.
Other pair should have a different settings since the characteristics of each pair is different.

Yes, you are right.
Bear in mind that if you play with high lot size, it does mean that you should limit your EA's working time. But actually (based on my xp) for STOP orders (on the EA's setting) you can attach on anytime (00:00:00 - 23:59:59) as long as you put smaller lot and small target, same as GT500.

My GT500 even it is quite risky, but until now still running ok.

Yes, it is.
Should plan the lot and target wisely if you want a bigger lot.

Yes, closing time of each order is the key important thing. Try to find broker with less execution time. If they say 0.3 second, probably you can multiply by 3 (0.9 second it is) so you can find the average closing time. I got tickmill, but again, there are a lot of trusted broker out there that you can try on.

Actually, backtesting is good for EA developer like me, and it is meant for checking whether EA is properly executed and as expected. But the result is not as actual result. The reasons are: backtest can't simulate dynamic spread, backtest can't simulate slippage (which is always happen on live account), if you import history data from external sources is quite tricky since timezone is also another key thing.

Hey Radityo, Sorry i am a little confused, although I have read through the thread several times... What are the current trade explorer settings being used in the GT500? I.e., for example the trade explorer says that the pending orders are STOP, however your settings screenshot says that the order operation should be LIMIT? Many thanks! ytrader07

I think both are talking different setting. can you tell me which of my post you are referring to?

Dear Radityo.Ardi, I get this error when EA put order with Dynamic Recreation by Threshold: 06/09/2015 17: 54: 42,265 RdzGridTraps GBPUSD, M15: invalid lots amount for OrderSend function thanks {image}

I wonder... what kind of pair you are attaching? Can you attach your settings here? What broker you are using?

Because sometimes, some broker may apply the policy, where you can only attach for example minimum lot at 0.1, and stepping up as 0.1, which means, if you send order with lotsize 0.16, it will throw the same error. But this will not throw error when you create order with 0.2, or 0.3, or 0.4.

Dear Guys, this strategy that showed a good result on backtest as Radityo did before, isn't good on forward demo (on my Trade Explorer GT500#139) http://www.forexfactory.com/attachme...6&d=1433696725 on post (http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...41#post8310641) here's after a day forward test. {image}

I was backtesting on Jan 2014 to end of Feb 2014. But the same setting won't pass through till end of June 2014. It got Stop Out (no money left) on early March 2014. Looking at the same date, I think even during US time about to close (2am - 5am Singapore time), some day in a year it was still trending. So my Limit orders are having more risks.

okay tested briefly the EA today. been trying to understand how it trades. the EA at startup will have 3 levels of price, rite? UpperPrice, LowerPrice and Bid price. Is the gap between upper, lower and bid price adjustable? How long a cycle of trade will last? Will this initial Bid price (which will determine the initial entries of limit/stop orders) stays permanent? I mean how is the next grid of entries will be based on? Is there somekind of safety net in the EA? I was looking at one of my limit orders which trigger but went the other way and...
Ignored
Upper, lower, and bid is not adjustable. But Grid Step and Current Price Interval it is adjustable. Upper and lower is the result when all orders has been placed. Bid and Ask line is just my guide line for "Right in Start Point or Target Based" Close type.
Cycle always starts from the current bid and ask price. When the cycle is not yet closed, bid and ask price will never be updated and stays there.

Hi Radityo,

Thanks for your EA...Currently testing it and works pretty good
Would it be possible for you to add a "stop loss" option to the EA??? (like the take profit option , possibility to set fixed amount)

Thanks

okay this is interesting...

I attach the EA on my EURCHF - so far nothing happens.

so, i was on EURUSD yesterday, so i decided to close it manually.

and restart my MT4

now the EA works for EURCHF - i can see pending orders.

but now the EA on my EURUSD seems no trade.

Is this weird?

UPDATE: ok, now i tried restart MT4 another round, this time both EURUSD and EURCHF has orders pending.

but then i notice some weird entries. As i was testing only LONG entry, i notice SHORT entries being triggered.

hmm...wat i did wrong? i hav no other EA running except this GridTrap

hi radityo,

attach is a screen shot of EURUSD which i restarted the Mt4.

it seems the buy lot is quite far away from the current price, buy at 1.20421 even though current price is floating around 1.1350 (which is about 692 pips away)

my settings shows i select current price interval 10 and grid step 10.

is this normal?

seems everytime i ran the EA it has different behaviour.

btw does it matter which timeframe the chart we looking at? or it will affect the EA depending on the timeframe? thx.

Hi Josh,
Should be the same, it's just the percentage and I already adjust it as Radityo's backtest, so they should be in the same condition.
So that's mean the setting is too high risk and we should avoid.. meanwhile there's some good setting proven to work on Radityo forward demo test..

Yeah...that setting is too high risk..also IMO it don't use proper money management, 0.8lots on 1000$ account..too risky..

So far the best setting on forward demo are..GT1000 or GT670 (with limit order) and GT500 (stop order).

Hmm what if we implement the new variable like "close if no new order" and "threshold" on that both setting GT500 and GT670?
What do you think radityo?will it improve the result?

radityo, i have a question.

i am experience some pips lost in some spikes. Sometimes when prices spikes and reach TP the EA start closes pending sales/buys before close the runing sales/buys. And in meantime the prices returns causing the pips losts.

Is it possible to set the EA to close the running trades before the pending sales/buys?

Thanks!

I have noticed that if you start your EA at S/R areas, you will have more chance of trapping the price.
