most didn't get it with the tarp bailout bs in the media. The tarp was mostly just placed into u.s. bank's accounts. most of it was never used. it was just a # on a computer. most never hit the system. so it didn't exist. Remember the banks were loaning very little. so the money in the system already wasn't pulled out.
the stress test in the ez did pull money out. as will these bailouts. unless they print.

since the u.s. banks didn't loan as expected during tarp. the fed is using qe. and yes they are now putting money in the system. but they are also buying what the Chinese were buying. the money they are putting in the system is no more then the bs tarp money (that never made it to the system). we were at 1.2xx when tarp was being added. we are above atm.. the euro strengthened as money was pulled out to prop ez banks up. once the u.s. fed stated its qe game plan the eu went up about 150 pips. it has since fallen 1000 pips. the affect on China is bigger then most think. It has just begun. we are less then a month in qe.

if ez prints to avoid a major liquidity crash, the usd will gain more.

Just reason it through, if the US gets involved in Korea, the local currencies will devalue and the local indices will drop, global risk aversion will take hold and the only place to go is the dollar. An obvious cause and effect.

Keynes does not say tax the business cycle. Keynes says create fiat money (money that does not exist or exceeds tax revenue) to stimulate the demand which will eventually have a multiplier effect. Taxes in a recession is very inefficient... Theoretically by cutting them, there is a way to stimulate the demand, however the tendency is to save which is exactly the problem. If Japan had not created public spending in 1990s it would have been much much worse for them. It has to be promptly otherwise Japan, again, is a very good exactly of what happens with liquidity trap.

Creating fiat money is taxing the business cycle, the US and UK are case in point.

The reason that the big economies promote Keynes is that it gives the governments themselves a larger stake and power. If you research Lucas, Friedman and Hayek you will probably change your opinion regarding Keynes.

Why should they sacrifice the USD? They will be handsomely rewarded...the chinese aint quiet as stupid as those "smart" westerners think. The USD will be a precious commodity soon. Forget about the crash of the USD, thats nonsense.

no. you cannot collect fiat money in taxes, before you actually spend it. you print the thing first. then you collect it in taxes.

As I say CLOGGIE, you are as we all know an expert on the Forex, but your not when it comes to 'how the world' works, or who is to dog and who is not.....

Everything which is happening not with Korea has been on the 'cards' for the last 2 years or so at least................. Maybe thinking outside of the box yourself, would in this particular circumstance be a good idea. The USA is no longer the super power it once was. Whether that be in currency or anything else. The realities of the 21st century are starting to fall into place. China financially could wipe out the USA without even thinking about it too much and so far as anything else is concerned that too. Do not believe all that is put out in the news or elsewhere......Sorry not wanting to argue, but if you make statements like the one you made at least know the real facts, not just those which you think are the facts. I'm sure their are a few others who frequent this forum who know, what is what and what is not.
