The US is different, they control their own fiscal and political agenda, policies and tools. The US could at a push be self sufficient, the EU can't.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but if the US wanted to finish of the yooro and force inflation within China, all it needs to do next week is send a contingent of Marines and a couple of those grey ships to South Korea, job done.

chart tells me we go back to 3306....if 3221 is broken likely to go lower....

Same here, well actually, a target of 3340. Targets only valid as long as 3200 is not broken... for now.

My eyes are looking to the weekly chart for the next few weeks though. Should be interesting.

Sure I get your point Cloggie. To be in complete autarchy is probably too much in the modern globalize world but yes in general given the US economic, political and military size, they still have room to overextend hopefully not until it breaks because (it will be disaster for the whole world), and as gator always mention, history repeat itself and it wont be the first time the most powerful country/state/tribe/man go busted.

Keynes can never be right, you cannot grow an economy with public spending, it would mean that you have to take the money out of the business cycly first only to recycle it back in through public spending, there will always be a percentage left behind purely due to overhead and bureaucracy, I won't even mention the inefficiencies of government spending. I am a big opponent of Keynes.

Just stop and think about it, you spend 100 million more in public spending, that needs to come from something, which is tax, as that is the only revenue source for governments, so you add tax to the business sector, generating 100mill, now you want to spend that 100 mill to rejuvinate the economy, (but the 100mln has already been taken out of the economy), generating that 100Mln has cost you an overhead (tax authority, bureaucracy, businesses hiring accountants etc.) Now in order to spend the 100Mln you need further bureaucracy to dole it out back into the economy, that comes at a cost too.

Anti-Keynes economist (me included) just say, leave the 100Mln in the business cycle and it will generate a far greater return then trying to take it out only to reinvest a smaller sum back in.
