Good morning Elovv,

did you run a backtest on your demo and your life account?
Ignored
Hi Haishang

Yes I have but only default settings for GBPUSD. The last 12 moths is only wins! But 2008 is bad.
I do my backtest on IBFX demo, because my lyve account is a IBFX miniaccount and i cant download so long history from History Center. Guess its because GBPUSD is GBPUSDm on their miniaccounts.

I can do others if You will compare with Your result.

Best wishes
Elovv

I cannot see why your EA would place a buy order, the SMA was on a very definite down slope last night with no possibility of misinterpretation!

Which version are you using?
Ignored
V5a

I did not use the suggested SL. Based on the outdated data that babypips provided, normally GBPUSD will have a range of about 70 to 80 pips during Australian/Asian session. So, i use 70 pips as my SL. If, i stick to suggested SL, i may have a chance now.

In the EA display I show the 10 day daily range calculated from the D1 candles, is this of any use to you?

I guess the range through the Asian session is more relevent to your time zone!

Well, let's see how it performs for tomorrow's session. Nothing wrong with the EA, maybe just my luck or due to broker's feed (more likely).

Hi Elovv and kvellimalai

This is bad news, my demo and live accounts both traded on v6 and even on v4 (see my signature) as they all use the same way to generate the trade.

Please let me know if you find any reason, I can't see why myself!
Ignored
I cant understand why, its exactly the same settings on live/demo with DLL allowed. I havent touch settings since last week and it woked perfect last week.

But I have uninstalled all MT4 on my computer and installed to fresh IBFX terminals, one live and one demo.

Pherhaps they will trade perfect to night.

I have just a little live mini with $50. Trade 0.02 lots, its 2 cent/pip.
I always test EA:s on miniacc with little lotsize before I decide to trade it with real money.
But if its work lotsize doesnt matter, we can earn a lot of money independent of startbalance, its just a question about time. Remember my post 1149 and 1151.

I think we can trade it with default settings. If it loose more than 3times/month maybee we should stop trading and find other settings. 3 loose in a month=another market than last month.

I hope it does work tonight, I hate problems when you can't see any reason for it, like the problem camvcvoo had where it placed a buy when everyone else placed sell, this could drive me to drink!

Two successful demo trades for Version 6 last night. I turned off my live account due to bank holiday although now wish I had left it on. Just noticed that the magic number seems to change. I used my own magic number and the second trade appears as my magic number + 1. Not sure if this is meant to happen to distinguish between trades 1 and 2 but it I use a history anaylsis EA and it needs the magic number to be the same.

Yeah, go ahead and drink like nobody's business, especially, when the costs of drinking beer or liquor is very close to drinking spring or mineral water

Too bad this is not happening over here, the country north of Singapore.

Hi Paul

Yes, I have to use two different magic numbers because the second trade uses different parameters to the first order, I'm sorry if this screws your analysis EA but otherwise it would close both orders at the first TP.

How do I do that in the message? I attach it. Edit:Last year. It worked.

Maybee IBFX miss the loosing trades because their is trades open? IBFX does not allow hedgning.

If I will do a test with compounding, how does risk percent, low med high risk work?

Once we find the near optimal settings for any currency pair, start out slow with small lots in your LIVE account and use good money management. Try and keep your daily loss to less than 3% of your balance. If this EA keeps performing like we've seen it do lately, we can be in for a nice ride As your account balance grows, you will be able to increase your lot sizes and still stay within the 3% rule. I'm still doing some back testing to see if I can find some better settings. I think I'm splitting hairs, though, because if our settings can produce anything over 80%, we should be able to make a nice profit long term. That's where good money management will be crucial. Try and stay in the game so you can benefit from this awesome EA. Good luck to us all!

That is a very interesting observation Elovv and it is very easy for me to change the code to make hedging false at all times, I will try it on my demo account with forex.com and see if I get the same result as you.

The risk % is Low 3%, Med 5%, High 10%, VHigh is the value that you can change in RiskPercent in the options.

Risk is calculated from the stoploss value where if a stoploss is hit you will lose x% of your equity.

Many thanks kellera6, it's so easy to get carried away when an EA is performing well, it draws you into increasing your risk and that can end in disaster!

Thank you for your timely reminder!

Another night WIN.. 2 Sell orders executed one for 34 pips and another for

61 pips =

95 pips total That alone worth 2-3 days of trading, will continue run it on Demo few more days..

P.S

I checked EA on some different pairs and seems this is GBPUSD phenomenon only.
