Did someone break Canada in the last 24 hours? Positive Cad, neg. US news and still CAD (UCad) can't find its legs....

We see the firgures from the US is worsening. The currency is getting too high while the figures in Europe aret starting to improve. Still the USD will continiue to rise to to the safe heaven currency

really ???? ....didn't we have the best NFP numbers in recent history only a week and half ago?, didn't we have overshoot in GDP expectations by a mile in the last 3 quarters? didnt we start printing positive wage gains for the first time since the financial crisis? don't we have consumers confidence in average as high as pre recession levels? , aren't we trading all time highs in equities in almost every single sector (except energy)? ...

Once again Sisse and Gatorlina, thanks for your continued analysis and contribution, has helped my trading personally no end.

Reluctant to drop any shorts in at the moment, at this level, though did well out of the run up too 1450+ and fall back too 1360 a few hours back.

...as suspected 1.138x for NY opening.... Again and for the 100s time these last few days. 1.138x only level to track for the opening range. Failure to break down that level with today's roll will make bears very very very weak ....

The figures coming out from the fourth quarter have been worse than other three quarters. WE had the NFP numbers a week ago which showd as you said looked good.
Not everyone agrees abouth how this figures are presented in the US. Firstly they are not counting people that have been out from the labour marked for a long time they are not considered as applicants. In addition the figures does not show all the part time workers who are counted as one

There’s another reason why the official rate is misleading. Say you’re an out-of-work engineer or healthcare worker or construction worker or retail manager: If you perform a minimum of one hour of work in a week and are paid at least $20 — maybe someone pays you to mow their lawn — you’re not officially counted as unemployed in the much-reported 5.6%. Few Americans know this.
Yet another figure of importance that doesn’t get much press: those working part time but wanting full-time work. If you have a degree in chemistry or math and are working 10 hours part time because it is all you can find — in other words, you are severely underemployed — the government doesn’t count you in the 5.6%.

How does one count unemployed people mowing lawns for $20?

Do I take my $20 bill and go to the employment agency so that they can put me on the list of employed? Would you report that on your monthly work report (or whatever the time-frame is now) for unemployment benefits?

Why would the government count you in the unemployment if you are severely underemployed? How many people hold worthless degrees and/or choose jobs doing other things? Do you hire an Engineer whom could be directly linked to a building structural failure? Why not? He has the degree....so what if he's an idiot. What about a doctor convicted of malpractice? Employment is employment is employment. Not everyone deserves the job they have, whether better or worse. Some people deserve exactly what they have. Why would the govt split hairs either way?

she probably care about this(red colored thing) persisting bad US datas...good NFP alone doesn't make a healthy country, the NFP data can be fake (part-time workers fake jobs...)...consumer confidence depend of the population choosen for the test... this thing just follow the last US GDP who was bad too...

They report the parttime employed as full time employed which gives a wrong picture that is the main point

Having no trades open before FOMC, I already feel like I am making money. Asia will be easy money, once FOMC burns all the overconfident ones.

In practice beyond 1533 is out of reach of FOMC. Providing Yellen doesnt come out and proclaim Draghi the EU God and the Dollar toilet paper.
