Hard to accept it but EC repeating past BS movements, 30 pips up to give it all back in few hours. We saw it at 1.22 1.23 1.24....

Ukraine truce edges closer and Ukraine's president says hopes peace process can start Friday can not be seen by the market!!!!

Anyway, I'll not go into politics too much because my view is very powerful for many to absorb.

Can just say, all this Ukraine nonsense supposed to be the reason for driving EC up and down, is nothing for what is coming.
I only pray EC to be 1.25 or more or SNB already intervenes(for our sake only) by the time Russia not invades Ukraine but whole Europe starting from Turkey....not SNB not FED not BS will hold the market from going crazy....

Enjoy your lives and trading poor Europeans and their neighbors...the worst is yet to come, just a matter of time to WW3.

Don't become very pessimistic guys, not for nowadays.

LONG EC now, tomorrow it will repeat today's move to same high if not more, if reason would be ECB, some new rumor whatever, not our concern.
We want the money only

On long run, resistances on 1.2089(today's high), 1.2115, 1.2130s and 1.2175-80. Support, any level from 1.2050 and down are a MUST LONG.

I wonder what Jordan thinks about today's ECB action. Must be increasingly and progressively tough to maintain that 1,20 floor.

the problem is that today the chf lost against all other currencies except EUR.
then for the SNB's okay that the chf was devalued without making efforts (thanks Dragons).
Unfortunately, those who are long EURCHF will have a lot of patience, plus the cost of the daily swap will impact very forcing many to leave their positions

Well, as of latest news Poroschenko probably expects ceasefire on friday. This may help the EC. But I think american banks and hedgefonds will try to create more pressure. It's a kind of a war...

1310 GMT [Dow Jones]--Citigroup reports a large 500 million EUR/CHF bid on the EBS trading platform. "This is prompting the obvious talk," Citi says on its wire, hinting that the Swiss National Bank might be behind the bid. EUR/CHF hit 1.2045, close to the 1.20 floor introduced by the SNB in 2011. It was a 21 month low for the currency. Analysts are suggesting that the Swiss central bank might announce measures to weaken the franc even before their next policy meeting on Sept. 18. That just was a journalist having to write an article about something.
500 million is the equivalent of 5000 lots. If individual traders here are able to buy 20 or 30 lots, 5000 lots can be anybody (investment company, HF, individual bank, even a HNW)

If they would have really big bids at 1,2050, the Peg would not be 1,20 but 1,2050
Don't freak out about any article...just be patient and see who wins the battle in the end.

I think 500 million is 500000 lots. ( 1 lot = 10k)

For usually all main pairs (including all EUR pairs):
What is refered as "1 lot" (mainly a MT4 thing) is 100K (100.000) / 10 per pips
A mini lot = 0.1 lot = 10K / 1 per pip
A micro lot = 0.01 lot = 1K / 10 cents pef pip

A future EUR contract or RF contract (EUR/CHF) = 125K / 12.5 per pip

A 5000 lot position = 50K P/L per pip = 2.5 Millions max loss if you trust the BNS (50 pips from 1.2050 to 1.20)
So could be everybody having a few millions and trusting thd BNS and that EC should go up

yeah mt4 thing as u said. The exchange traded micro euro for ex is 12,500. and the exchange traded mini euro is 62,500 eur.

EC down 14 pips in the last hour. I'm beginning to regret going long on gbp chf when I should have just gone short on eur gbp. I'm holding onto this one for a few days if it stays in profit.

"Exchange" is a very generic term. You are talking of futures contracts traded on GLOBEX/CME. But if you go on any other exchange (although you can argue that it isn't "regulated" exchanges, that's right) like EBS, FxAll and others, quantities are expressed by millions or 100K parts.

I think that it's more the futures quantities that are bizzare. And they are different for different contracts (GBP is 62.5K, CAD are 100K contracts for example)
