DJ SNB's Jordan: Indicates Switzerland Faces Problem of Deflation - Report
Switzerland isn't at risk from higher inflation and even faces the problem of deflation, Swiss National Bank Chairman Thomas Jordan said in an interview published Tuesday.

Despite expansionary monetary policy in the U.S. and Europe, "we aren't actually in danger of a large rise in inflation on product markets...anywhere," Mr. Jordan told German newspaper Handelsblatt.

"In Switzerland we even have the opposite problem," Mr. Jordan said. "But we also have a large degree of price stability in the U.S. and Europe."

Still, the central banker warned money created by central banks to overcome the debt crisis is flowing into assets such as safe bonds or real estate.

"In Switzerland we are experiencing very strong price rises in real estate," he said.

Is anything going to make this pair rally?

If CPI comes in better than expected at the end of the week and the ECB cuts rates that's gonna put pressure on again.

If EUR rate > CHF rate, it should be positive. If it's equal then it will be zero.
Now EUR rate is 1% and CHF < 0.25%. If they will cut, EUR rate will be 0.50% and still higher than CHF rate and of course the swap should be around "half".
Just a point here..if ECB cuts rate (probability 15% estimated by specialists) then it will favorize short positions (swap maybe will be zero for short) on this pair when the pair tries to go up....more pressure on SNB.

is there an impact on swaps, if CH is introducing negative interest rates? what do you think?

As I mentioned earlier, eur interest rate > chf interest rate than it's good for longs..if chf interest rate will go negative than it will be even better for longs. Just ti watch if ECB cut rate maybe SNB will put negative also

If ECB cuts 25bps, hopefully SNB will follow suit. Make a small little -ve, -0.25%. Nett, no change in swap.

But we know well our brokers will take the opportunity to greatly reduce, zero or make -ve also long swap.

It is now very very hard to do carry trade for this pair. can just do scalping and hope for spikes.

The word "utmost" is sort of infectious virus, Shirakawa just used it word weakening Yen, and God knows I hate this word with utmost determination.

My lowest in hotforex was 1.19977 but my other broker(Fibo Group) was fine. It's lowest was 1.2009.

With my account on IC Markets I had the low as 1.20095, that seems way too low with FXCM.
