it's a slow morning with LHs and LLs. I haven't entered a single trade today. too chicken... or maybe my set up is no where to be seen. lol.

if market really changed sentiment to short, we should see a clear break of 1.30. otherwise if we see a bullish change from the 38.2 % upward retracement...

Wise decision buddy. Personally will wait for the 3120 - 3150 area to go short again. At the moment I cannot figure anything out of what this market is trying to do.

Thats mean EURUSD movement do have effect on Dollar Index(since i use natu5ral log value of EURUSD and Dollar Index) AND Dollar Index do have effect on EURUSD movement. But from probability value,...

the USDX is a weighted Geometric average, meaning that relative to each other the basket is weighted so the currencies in question do not affect the mean dis-proportionally due to the amount in the exchange rates i.e the Yen being large numbers does not have more weight than the Euro.

having said that
the basket is composed of:

58.6% Euro
12.6% yen
11.9% GBP
9.1% CAD
4.2% Swedish Krona
3.6% CHF


That is the reason I say that The Euro will dictate the strength of the USDX as all the other currencies combined amount 41.40%
so a change in the Eur/Usd has the biggest impact on the USDX. However the USDX is very useful as it basically reflects the Eur/Usd in flipped image as to give you 2 ways to look at the same thing, and because loss in value in the USD will be felt across the board so you see the EUR/USD go up, kind of like the chicken and the Egg.

however if the USD loses ground but the Euro is weak also, 41.40% of the other currencies will not have as much effect as a change in the Euro as it takes the biggest share in the weighted average.
