To access EA properties you have to stop the EA by Metatrader button and only after that you are able to edit EA properties

Not really.. Any other EA I have can be accessed while

running.. It shouldn't be frozen.. That's why it doesn't taking any trades

since morning.

I'm now trying to better understand what BWB does (not BWBB yet...).

I see TradePrice[] are taken from GlobalVariables if they do already exist.
That's to recover from a platform crash or shutdown/restart, good enough.

However, these variables are not being deleted when trades are closed (basket hit TP, or move the "CLOSE ALL" "button").

Those limits (well, "stops" i should say) are set when the bot starts the first time, and then NEVER change.

So, trades on a given pair will always open at that same price that was initially gathered the first time (basically the market price when the EA was first started), and buy or sell will depend on the RSI directions.
Until you eventually delete the global vars by hand, or change their value by hand so that the next trade opens at this new limit.

If price goes away from the limit and does not come back to it, then the bot will never open any new trade (for that pair).


Is this the expected trading logic ?

I was talking about this particular EA, it has a special start() function that once started never release the control to terminal, that's the reason why you need to stop the EA from Metatrader button

if not you can't take the control of the robot even if you stopp it, so if you want (for example) to change the input actually the only way is to remove the robot from chart and re drag on chart again

Yes. This is how T101's 'phantom basket' governed the trade triggers.

It turns out that my recollection of his trading method was well short of perfect, so I think that deleting the globals and starting again is the way forward here - also on my to do list for later.

I don't know if it is only on my platform but I noticed that the screen/dashboard is not refreshing every 1 second as it should but it seems it's only refreshing every tick.

So the "Not Trading: X" counter should be incremented every second. But I have it frozen till next tick.

I also found out that if I uncomment the
Inserted Code
Comment(message);

it starts to refresh every second as it should.

As the Comment line is redundand I replaced it with
Inserted Code
Comment(" ");

But now the screen is refreshing every second as expected.

Strange behavior. Even though it is just a cosmetic thing.

I had the same behaviour too.
Thanks to p777m, it made me remember that it should call "WindowRedraw();" to force it to redraw even if no tick comes in.

I added this call at the end of the DisplayBasket() function.

It works fine now.

The latest update is in post 1:

 

  1. added trading times
  2. sleep after basket closure also applies to closure after a basket hits its sl. I hope. It does not respond to baskets closed by systems external to this robot, such as mptm.
  3. BWB starts afresh with a new master basket once a basket has closed. I hope.

Now, I have had all sorts of emails, pms and 'solutions' to the requirement that the infinite loop employed by this bot sometimes needs suspending.

I tried some of them. After about an hour of useless thrashing around, I was in such a tangle that the only way to escape was to re-download the damn robot from post 1.

So, the next individual stupid enough to email, pm or solve this 'issue' will receive the full weight of my gratitude. Users can just damn well learn how to use robots that are not configured to respond to every single solitary damn whim that might cross their minds as a passing fancy. Like I did.

Also, and bearing in mind that I am not in the best of all possible moods tonight because I am tired because I did not sleep last night because my wife kept me awake, so forgive me if some of my words seem harsh. Or don't forgive me; I don't really care. Some posters here appear to be professing confusion about how the bot decides on how to trade. I am fairly sure I described this in post 1. These contributors could always try reading it. Novel idea, I know, but sometimes worth trying.

Profit target 5 pips (per trade)
MaxLoss=15 pips (per trade)

Sleep 30 min

Profit target was reached quickly.. I better take small portions of the $$$ at the time maybe I even going to lower

Stop loss to 10 pips, cause sometimes like 15 trades open 15 * 10= 150 pips Loss should be enough.

Question is: With a bouquet of flowers.. sorry .. basket of trades, shouldnt the ups and downs of the different pairs cancel each other out, and therefore enable the use of a smaller stop loss?
I will trial 10 pip per pair SL and 10 pip per pair TP for a bit, and report back.

Just a thought, not sure how to implement this but.

Before taking a trade based on performance, watch for Pair Daily position

I mean, if sell then better below pivot and above Support 2 and if

Buy, then above pivot and below Resistance 2, that rule can save a lot

of pips, as buying Above Resistance 3 and Selling below Support 3 is

more likely will generate loss.. Since we have many pair to choose from,

that will also limit number of open positions, by filtering some trades out. IMHO.

Just trew this up on a chart with sky's settings and it hit TP right away
waiting for next cycle

Steve... could the pop up be toggled on or off it keeps beeping and I have to keep hitting ok my employees' are asking what the heck it is
I told them it's my money machine LOL

error message pop up are ok though not sure if can happen up $ 28 since started typing this NICE
