I'm long EUR/CHF 1.51 also... seems very safe, especially with possible SNB intervention talk if it drops lower, which would immediately spike it up around 100 pips. Downside seems limited.

I'm still short. Literally flew down 21 pips in the last two days. TP is 1.5098. Only 6 pips to go.

Problem is I'm tripping over my beard and my grandchildren want to play with me instead of staring at this screen.

Seriously, though, it will pay to set some small market orders between here and 5150.

Look at daily chart Euro/Chf seems bullish today

Short EURCHF, avg price 1.4811, it broke below Dec 31 low of 1.4820. Hoping for it to continue obvious downtrend. The long/short ratio on this pair is around 75% at Oanda.

But this Pair already dropped down much today... Seems now will retraces back lets see

CPI back in the negative Numbers. I don’t understand why people buy the CHF fundamentally? Beside the potential Intervention CHF is still a funding currency.

Interest rates are not the only factor. Swiss banks are repatriating billions in order to shrink their balance sheet. Plus, the swiss economy has been surprisingly resilient compared to many Euro members.
If someone would force me to choose which currency I would wanna hold in the long run, I would choose the franc simply because I don't expect too much trouble for the swiss.
The swiss don't have a sovereign debt problem like some euro members.

but besides that, i expect a short term recovery to 1.495 and if things go extremely well even to 1.51

Swiss make billions from their secret banking operations so I guess their CPI etc do not hold as much influence as larger populations? Am I on the right track here? You seem to know a bit about it Mike?

stopped out of short for -17 pips

My EURCHF trading is having a lot of floating loss due to recent fall of EURCHF. (having a lot of long orders)
What should I do ?
I can hold it till the price go up...BUT
Will there be the day and what time frame I can expect it happen ?

Should I do hedge by go short ?
I am so nervous.

Anyone of knowledgeable please suggest me.

back in short this pair, avg price 1.4802, touched top of down channel overnight then did a ST 50% ret, stop at 4820-50, just abv 50%

My scalper got caught in that big selloff... I lost 40% account I believe... (my backtests never showed that big of a spike since 1999 during asain session). However one thing that I wasn't checking was news... and that spike came within an hour or two after a news event(my scalper now doesn't trade within a few hours of news events). This would have avoided the loss for you and me.

What I did do was stop a margin call by doing a sell of the same size... then I did some buying and selling depending on Support/Resistance using RSI... I made back a bit... but was still down a few thousand dollars... so last night I went short GBP/AUD and made it all back I used relative currency strength (similar to basket trading) to figure out whos strong and whos weak... find the best pair and go with that..I used a big lot size as I was sure of my position and made a few hundred pips... I'm actually up a few hundred $ now .

Because of incompetence of brokers I would probably stay away from scalping esp since now volatility will be very high when it does retrace.

I may end up selling my scalper but for now I'm doing research on another promising idea which I do not have to worry about spread/fills as much as scalping.

I myself got caught on the wrong side of this pair since 1.51 and have added longs all the way down. I am in a bit of a predicament, but slowly, and trying, to work my way out of it. Have taken some off the board already, but still have more to go. Hoping for a pullback into the upper 48's or even 49 area. I will then hedge short and go slightly bigger than what I have long. Everybody is wondering if the Swiss is done intervening, including myself. Although their last monetary statement on Dec 10th said "The SNB will act decisively to prevent any excessive appreciation of the Swiss franc against the euro." They did interject one word in this sentence compared to their previous policy statements. Guess which word? "excessive" What this means is that they will allow for CHF strength b/c things are looking a little bit better for their economy, but if it moves down too much, they will intervene. The question is: Where's the new line in the sand for them? 1.48? 1.46? 1.45? Who knows. Fundamentally, the CHF is in a much better position that the Euro with all the negative news about Greece and Dubai debt. Plus Swiss banks are repatriating as they de-leverage some more of their risky assets off their books. Could the SNB be waiting for all their own guys to clear their books before they intervene so as not to hurt their own when they intervene? Who knows. Now, on the other hand, I think you have to have some testicles of steel to short this pair the further it does go down. And here's why. SNB could obviously intervene at anytime, and I guarantee you won't be hearing a trumpet sounding, alerting everyone their coming. It will be like the rapture, in a blink of an eye like they did a few times in '09. Also, the Swiss cannot afford too strong of a currency against the Euro, b/c the Eurozone is their biggest trade partners. The Swiss economy lives and breathes on their exports to the Eurozone countries. The stronger the Franc, the more it will slow and dampen the Swiss economy. For this pair to go all the way down to 1.43 area like in 2008 is hard to believe (although anything is possible in Forex). The Swiss economy still has more recovering to do and a stronger Franc will hinder that. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few days/weeks/months with this pair. Me, I'm of course hoping for some huge retracement back up or better yet an intervention by SNB (or God for that matter). I have my work cut out for me to work out of the jam I'm in. Hopefully I can play my cards right with doing some hedging.
