This guy's moving the market doesn't even look at news and result. They always start from a pre-determined point and move it to a destination.

It is we at our end that tends to give reason to justify like already priced in and so on ....

So I think I need some help.

I’ve got a strategy that really seems to work. Every day I go home and use cTraders backtesting features to go over the day and trade it, strictly adhering to my entry requirements, trend direction etc etc. I tend to make a decent profit. Not every day but most days.

However, when I’m trading in real time, whether on live or on demo, I can’t stick to the strategy. The market just moves too slowly and I get thoughts of “this could be the bottom of the pull back” and enter when it doesn’t fit my criteria.

This doesn’t happen when going over the day later on. I find I’m not even thinking at all.

I feel like my strategy isn’t the problem, given the results when I stick to it from that day, but my in ability to stick to it in real time.

Any tips?

until you fix yourself your cannot fix the market


every strategy is tied to price action so strategy is not your problem, anyone can place a profitable trade but when the Psychology is bad you cannot remain consistent, another point is Day trading is really hard and for someone who is not discipline its very likely that account will be blown is trying to open position on daily.

you need to approach the market with same mindset, master same approach, example if your customer know you as a phone dealer and dey always contact you for phones but suddenly you start dealing in chemicals or drugs, you will need to start looking for another buyers, so this mean that if you often change your strategy you are approaching the market with unrepeatable deals and such is hard to negotiate with.

Up to post #23, skip my strategy that isn't important, skip all those bits, its a demonstration that strategy doesn't matter.

I've had similar problems, but you somehow learn to slowly change and ignore it. I've had stressful jobs before, difficult sole trader roles, technically more difficult than this, but trading exposes parts of you, that you don't know exits. This was by far the hardest, most brutal relentless, constant punch in the face that I have ever experienced.

You need to see results, and then it compounds itself and slowly things will change.

I was same in simulator too, ctrader at 200x -500x not a problem, go to 1x and I was shitter than shit, plus I had life and money issues. Went to bed miserable, screaming, throwing things, went on for nearly 18 months, searching for strategies and fear had taken a bad grip of me. The coin toss showed me how much of an idiot I was, I needed money and with stress you can't sometimes see clearly, and with depression, it's a recipe for disaster. It's worth confronting the issues, if you really want to be succesful at this, you have to face and confront yourself, brutal honesty why? The sense of accomplishment is immense, you will feel amazing when you do accomplish it and if you are determined, put in the hours - you will.

h4 rejection candles from important 1.3140 support. also from 50% fibo and from daily 38% fibo.

these are very bullish signs for longterm

2 x interesting charts (,?) as of the week's close:

Probably not the extent of upside follow-thru on the previous week's wkly bullish hammer/pinbar candle close that the bulls hoped for, as of this week's close, but @ the week's 3216 hi price still broke upside of the dly and mthy parts of the prev dly/wkly/minor mthly sw lo zone = prev sbr = pot sbr that starts @ 3140, which on the wkly t/f is, as mentioned before, very wide, and extends up to circa 3267! The <13wk awr (68%) wkly candle closed neutral-bullish.

Friday spent the day in contraction mode after the day's lo and hi were printed early in the London session in a mad couple of hours of price swings. Price @ the day's/week's close had broken upside of the tightest 1hr triangle thingy.

Hi. You are suffering from what the late, great trading Author Mark Douglas calls the Profit Gap. Ie the difference between having a proven net profitable Trading Edge, and actually trading it profitably; and the difference is almost always psychological.

Assuming the 'strategy' you mention does indeed represent an edge in the market, and that this is proven over a representative sample(s) on the instrument(s) and t/f (s) you trade, in the market conditions it is best suited to, to your satisfaction, then you are suffering from a lack of patience and discipline, and the 1st step is for you to examine your emotions and decide Why? This is a crucial question, don't dismiss it. Try and understand why you are acting the way you do in a live account, - what is/are the core reason(s,) you are acting without the requisite patience and discipline? Only then will you have a chance of correcting the issue.

Pivots as of week's close:

As mentioned price opened the now old week above it's Wkly Pivot, and had 3 trips below it, but closed above, and did not bother the old Wkly S1 or Wkly R1 all week. It has not made it above the Mthly Pivot so far this month, after opening the month below it. The upside b/o of Yrly R1 (@/around 3197,) and the midpoint of said Yrly R1and Yrly R2, (which is @/around 3540,) to the 3788 CYH were both false, but price is still above the Yrly Pivot, which is @/around 2749.

I find the price action from last Friday very strange, up and down many times from support to resistance and sometimes it jumped few pips in one time.
The Pound might keep range in these 200 pips or so in the coming weeks, but you never know it all depends nowadays on what side of the bed Trumps wake-up!
