i been bearish most of december and all of januarary since christmas on weekly and monthly charts ....what has price exactly done the last 4 weeks except range

There is a lot jargon concerning price action for next week's opening session on GBPUSD. I'll explain where price is going in very few and simple terms. You can bet with a high amount of confidence price will follow this story.

Price has rallied up and tested this daily key level in yellow 5 times (4 times if you don't count the wick, could've been news data idk). Each time it tests this zone it sweeps the next level of liquidity to build downside momentum, failing each and every time. Price has 2 more liquidity zones to sweep (marked by the white lines) so it can have enough downside momentum to break through this daily level.

TLDR; Buy, take partial profit at 1st dashed line incase of reversal, take full profit at 2nd dashed line (which is also a weekly level).

Hello Leon, I'm seeing a possible bull move to 1.2880 area. The support at 1.2600 has held so many times and this tight range is usually followed up by price break out. January so far has only produced 190 pips with minimum expected range for this January being 275 pips to 320 pips...

Quick simulations
1.2596 + 275 pips = 1.2871
1.2785 - 275 pips = 1.2510...

For 1.2871 to happen price must not drop below 1.2660 area in the remaining 8 trade days of this January.

No effect really.

COT report released this report on the 16th of Jan, this when GIU went 100pips lower and retraced back. Trade remained in range.
No signs of Non Commercial bullish bias.
More neutral I would say.

New report is out on Tuesday 23rd.

...it would seem that, of those that have shared analysis since Friday's market close, and even for those who have just shared 'opinion,' the consensus is for more upside, (other than perhaps Zebi!) I number amongst for the former, and think there is a good technical case to be made for more upside in the near-term, at some point, -but- I don't know whether this is the greater probability, and I suspect that unless someone (s) else's analysis can give us this, nor do they. It is an important distinction, and judging by some of the postings here, some don't know the difference.

Let's look then @ the potential obstacles to the immediate upside;

On 4hr Friday's 2715 hi was @ the bottom of those prev 4hr sw lo zones = prev supp = pot sbr that extend to circa 2739, with a 3 fib cluster just above extending to 2741/42. Within these pot 4hr sbr zones are a couple of prev 1hr minor sw hi zones = prev res = pot res. Prior to/below these is a prev 1hr sw lo zone = prev supp = pot sbr that has contained Friday's pullback hi, and then of course the prev 1hr/4hr sw hi zone (that is partly coexistent with the aforementioned pot 4hr sbr zones) that extends to Friday's said 2715 hi.

As always, trade what you see not what you think.
