Hi. Yeh, the chop/whipsawing is the risk. It doesn't have to be a pattern or trend, although i like to see any existing trend continue as opposed to price go against it, but this does not necessarily preclude an entry (s.) I need to see momentum first and foremost, and also quickly review the numbers released whilst that 1st 1min candle is forming, (I never jump in before that.) So I have the time between getting the data and that 1st 1min close (at least ) to make that 1st decision of entry or not, then I have a further 1min to make a decision if haven't entered on that - re next 1min candle close, then 3min, then 5min etc.... If the numbers of all the data are basically not at odds with each other and are deviated from forecasts and previous (and any revisions to previous match the pattern of the numbers just released) then there is more likelihood of a uni-directional reaction (barring the p/back (s.) I guess it's also about experience. I also cut any losers quickly ..I've been at it a long time so that helps maybe?

a bit tricky for today set up.
As this is the last NFP for this year, I suppose they (MM) want to end it with a bang.

It’s a bit of a Goldilocks situation – not too hot, not too cold is just right. A super high or super low jobs number could make the market dip, but if it’s just right, we could see some gains.

Buy stop 2610 Tp 2750 (upper daily) SL 2570 (break mid H1)
Sell Stop 2560 TP 2350 (lower daily) SL 2610
follow with ur own risk

Hi. The classic 'straddle.' I've personally gotten into some terrible problems with straddles in the past, (back in the days when we'd see 300pip moves in a heartbeat,) when it whipsaws lol! The orders were too close together - and whip they were both activated. Also your problem is the 1st p/back - it can quickly put you into negative territory if one of them is activated, and then the 'do I hold it open, or do I not,?' quandry. Good luck if you do it.

The f'n 500 point spikes in both directions, when they happen! If you get filled in the spike there is always lots of slippage!

Yeh of course I forgot to mention that - the dreaded slippage. it's one of the few occasions in the trading month that brokers can do this (dirty tricks,) with deniability!
