Hi, I have a problem backtesting with Non-gap Renko Chart, basically my EA has a stop loss that trail when a new renko box is formed, the problem is that it calculates the size of the renko box from the non-gap box (the long one) and this cause stop loss and take profit way larger than how it should be.
In other words, if my renko boxes are set to 5 pips, I would like to have a 15 pip trailing stop, but because Non-gap renko box is 10 pip non my stop is set to 30 instead. Do you have any idea on how can fix this problem?

In the input settings of the Renko creator set it to "rail-to-rail". That should solve your problem.

Hi Matt!

I see you are quite the guy when it comes to Renko charts.

I'm looking for an EA/Indicator which allows you to customize your renko charts and decide the exact amount of pips that goes into continuation or reversal candles.

Like, what if I wanted a renko chart with 2 pips continuation candles and 15 pips reversal candles?

Any help?

It is not designed for Renko chart, so it shall not work on Renko charts

Is it necessary to put the EA (latest version from 2023) on the M1 chart, or is your product programmed to always grab the smallest available timeframe for that pair = M1?
And a sub-question: is the problem changing the timeframe in the window where the EA is running and is already creating an artificial renko chart M3? Will changing to a coarser M15 or H1 timeframe change the result in any way?
And the last sub-question: after a pause (for example at night), does the EA calculate the M3 chart again from scratch, or does it only recalculate the missing renko candles from the last run?

No, the EA always use the ticks regardless of which timeframe of a chart you attach it to.

Well, it could re-initialize the EA. It is better to use one chart for attaching the Renko Generator EA and leave it untouched.

If the Renko Generator EA for any reason is detached from the chart, it will stop working. The next time you attach the EA, it will generate the past Renko candles using the historical M1 data (since historical ticks are not available in MT4 platform).

A small request for Renko Generator EA..
I really apreciate if you can add an input like History Depth with multiple options which will tell the EA from which datetime it will start to generate renko charts..
Options might be :
* All available data
* From beginning of month
* From beginning of week
* From beginning of day
* Custom date

also the EA can generate renko for all available M1 history data but reset renko calculation at open price when new month/week/days begins..
This option may allow/let traders later to get what they see before from live renko charts.. (when all M1 data used one may not
get same renko chart after 1 week since M1 history is trimmed by broker)

If you like this Pivot Indicator, download it. It shows slightly differently from the natural time charts.

(asi by to šlo i tak, že by bral LastHigh a LastLow přímo z denních svící, ale to by bylo třeba se zamyslet)
