that might be true for some in the beginning. my own trading got alot better once i saw that setting a sl should only be for testing or backtesting uses. never for real trading coz market is always moving and fluid. i do real trading with live acct so i cant afford to set and forget. i am doing it for a real result. so there is a natural progression to trading experiences. we all go from strict system over to more manual when we each see that strict system cannot work against something fluid. why. we don't set the parameters of the market. we need to also be fluid to keep up and try to get ahead of it. when i saw that absorption is the key to making it work, i then saw what petercaleb was actually on about among all his rants. you have to do as it, the market does in all ways. only then can real absorption happen. some people did not see that he was not talking about fundamentals to technicals. he was talking about doing more than relying on a chart. once i saw that market do change, maybe not always on the chart but out in the real world circumstances etc, i knew it is inevitable that all systems eventually fail. i knew i had no choice but to learn manual ways. where you are now is good. try to learn from what i said here though.

Above 2585, I expect price to rise towards 2615/20 before CPI.
