I dont analyze fundamentals. I analyze the outcome of one very spike and whether the trend overwhelmed it or not. I dont care if the news are positive or negative, only about where the spike rebounded on the chart.

Well ive still got shorts from 1.9738 and 1.9758 open. What I am looking for near term to verify these shorts (hopefully make me a bit happier with them) is

USD/CHF to climb higher and attempt to break resistance at 1.2330 and stay above 1.2285

GBP/JPY to drop below 164 and sustain it.

cable to drop below mid channel trend line

my techincal inicators are bearish now but they like to lie sometimes

Issue for tomorrow is BOE meeting minutes out tomorrow at 9.30am could be biggest factor in dictating direction. I suspect vote would be 9-0 that all would have wanted a rate rise against 8-1 predicted. (61 out of 61 analysts called for a rate hike of 25 points). 7-2 would be bearish.

However I suspect the most important thing about the vote would be if any members voted for a 50 base point rise. 50 base point votes would be bullish for cable as would indicate more chance of another interest rate hike soon.

Trading fundamentals is not news trading.

Today, BA/Iberia takeover talks started the pressure on EURGBP

Then market pushed GBP up across the board on BOE minutes rumors having it to come out 9-0. I doubt, but the market traded it.

Oil down (also on fundies) put pressure on CAD. So it was a day to reload the shorts off the USDCAD highs with GBPJPY profits for me.

USDCHF got hit on SNB's Roth talk. Looking short lived so far.

EURUSD mixed-to-negative on Trichet's B.S.

Dollar still fuelled on US Trasury moving higher after yesterday fall. That's putting EURUSD under pressure, too.

That's what I'm on lately...

I use techis to go in and out only. Like GU stopping at expected resistance (which made me drop my GJs), USDCAD, EJ, UJ trading most of the session between daily pivot levels... I just don't try to anticipate the upcoming moves from techis. There comes Paulson and China and British Airways and smash your "It wills" like mosquitos.

Dear dear, what a lot of ruffled feathers during the last few hours.

OK, so this IS a cable thread, but lots of posts from many of the long term contributors are about other major pairs or indices, bonds etc as ALL of these markets inter-act with each other - just look at the excellent heads up from the falling Euro and rising Swissy earlier this morning - or yesterday if you´re looking at the hourly´s.

I agree that maybe so many consecutive charts are a little overpowering - but IMO relevent to helping make money out of trading cable.

If the moderator didnt see their relevence he would have commented by now.

Isnt the free sharing of other opinions -with which we may choose to disagree -part of the developement of becoming a profitable trader?

Back to my trading screen for the BOE mins.
