Inflation is about money in circulation, resulting in inflationary events. If it's not oil, it would be wages or food.
Inflation turns up in war, but war doesn't cause inflation; overspending causes inflation.

Loans are how all new money is created/destroyed. That's why IR is the best tool.
IR have to be over inflation over time, just like wages; otherwise, someone loses purchasing power.

Now you are repeating the narrative that I have been saying for over a year now! The inflation that we are seeing globally is a result of increasing the money supply to fight covid! The rich got richer. Covid went away and the money supply hasn't been shrunk so 'we' end up with inflation!

I think the upside isn't done. I don't have a trade yet. My only short from last Friday I closed it yesterday in profit. London didn't open yesterday and methinks they'll want to get some meat upstairs. And if the movers are in the mood they won't give that 2730 until they hit the very top range of the month, which might still be above 2900. How much pain are bears willing to take? I don't want that pain and won't take it. I will wait to strike at the right time. No trades for now.

...50% of the total drop so far reached @ y/day's last p/back hi that was tested at the Asian hi and held as res...slight upside peak above the Asian hi so far on the bounce up from current dly lo @ Dly S1. Yea, money is falling with higher rates. Your view is what people say as an excuse that's been established now. A lot of politicians say what you think.

Low volume maybe and bank rate expectation, which might read reverse to good, but will see at tomorrows CPI numbers.
Here is nothing good except that the supermarket cosmic prices not rising anymore, the rest is in a mess.

The Russia-Ukraine war boost this process.
These rapid Inflation happened due to the Supply restrained occurred in an era of inflated Demand.
More time in the market, does not mean you trade better!

Higher rates don't dry up the money supply! You have to retire treasury notes, other debt instruments or do something similar.

The Russia/Ukraine war is a drain on the economy which is why governments can't shrink the money supply more quickly.

Discretionary borrowing will dry up. Still doesn't shrink the money supply because the money supply is cash and treasury notes in circulation. What will happen is that more people won't be able to afford housing, families won't be able to carry mortgages and foreclosures will rise. Canada and the UK are the two places most at risk because of inflated real estate prices which haven't corrected in a long time and because wages don't support current housing prices.

The statement is misleading. bank loans to individuals don't increase the money supply. Banks have to have liquidity to be able to make loans to individuals. Bank liquidity either comes from deposits or treasury notes held by the bank. It comes back to cash and treasury notes to create money supply.
