Mark - Take a look at the 3 minute and one Minute charts of the sp500. I always seem to think ( afterwards) that sticking to the higher 3 minute gives less but better trades than the quickly in and out trades I take on the one minute. I can't help using the one minute which may be a fear of losses?
Do you trade the longer time frame now?

Have been focussing on the Asia session trading the Nasdaq. Did fairly well there. Have countered that with some losses during US session. Going to stick with Asia.

Using the 5-minute. I can't get any TFs smaller to fit my screen so I can see all I want.
Mark ... Either you understand or you don't, and that is that.

Long post coming alert hahaa, sorry.

Hi all, I love reading ALL your posts folks, and I will read what I can when I can and check out all the charts. All your input is very valued imho for other & new traders.

I’ve got some ‘outside’ activities ahead today hahaa but, as always, I check & review the past New York session (for a smile & a laugh to myself).

So I see that the NFP data all printed green for the USA and what a fantastic effort (wink) to have such high employment and low unemployment, the envy of the western world hahaa.

Of course the subsequent PMI read wasn’t good at all, and then the nose dive followed. Goodness me.

Without going into (again) the orchestration of all this and by whom/what, for me it is only the WHERE price moves to, that a student of such activity might study.

If we can finally put aside any prospect that some retail traders are moving the markets lol, we can examine more interestingly just where it is TO (ie targets) and a certain place on the price chart that price goes & ends. That, as a benefit, can allow us to understand (imo) that it is not any incoming tick-volume that might move price (well any more than maybe just ONE more x one minute candle later) and also that it not the TA that achieves this phenomenon but a well organised market control that has the final say in price activity (imho).

As such we can then, as consciously operating traders, use what HAS already happened to give us insight as to what MAY happen again in the next day, and the next, and the next.

For those that might then ask, well where is the ‘next’ entry point for a good trade, that is NOT the question to ask. It is (again, just imo) the realisation that ‘whatever’ the next (large) move will be, will be within the bounds of a highly organised operation. As such we can pick and choose what moves have now started, regardless of what started them. And furthermore we might then avoid being caught on the wrong side of these organised move completions (of which I am still working on lol, but I have a good % of being correct but STILL working on the times I am NOT correct lol).

Good fortunes to all. The second week of the new year is coming up, new levels have been set for us and swing trading those ranges can be good news upcoming for those that like that style of trading. At the right places & time of course. And don’t ask where those places & times are, you actually “know where & when” even if you don’t have the confidence yet to understand that you do. Just trade them, I say. Best wishes.

Some examples.

As to this well heeled organisation of price movements (imo) which are not tick-volume related from one end of the move to the other, but ARE where TA would ‘FOLLOW’ price nicely enough to be utilised by a trader, then here is a couple of charts to stir some imaginations.

I call them both “who would have guessed” (hahaa, not really), though I couldn’t guess in advance even though I don’t trade the New York Session. But I do love the chart outputs.

(edit: that 'grey' line on the USDJPY chart I missed annotating, sorry, just above the 133.250 line is actually the Monthly PP in case any were wondering)

Hi All,

Trade i took on Friday. Quite simple and just 15 odd pips. Could have waited for 2nd and 3rd target for bigger profit but safety first as it is just beginning of the year. Read a bit of Bluesteele's Fibo technique and as he mentions that 127 mark is hit quite often, so that was my 3rd target with the RN.

Trade Well All.

Kinda looks like business as usual to me

Plus it's a bank holiday in Japan. So who's in charge of the business

Doesn't really matter in the end
There's about 9 stages of examples of Market Mechanics '101' & their Behaviours here in just one chart.

Where will price go now..... imho, wherever they want it to go (once the 'aggregating' is done).

And I found another guy who makes a better ( to me) job of explaining some ICT stuff whilst actually trading. Certainly helped me understand more albeit secondary to my current stance on trading.

That would be the Asia Open 0.00 which is 10pm GMT

The Gap was between the NY Close to Asia Open.

I have marked up this Euro chart. Does it appear similar, in mark up to yours ( tried Fib here?) albeit I take UK Open from 8am. Perhaps forex should be 7am UK time for me. Getting up earlier
