Nice sp500 action but I do note that if I trust "levels" more I could have gotten into trades earlier?

Spot on Shabs, the GJ yesterday did under 90 pips all day (when it can easily do 200).

On the 1hr many pairs are now in what I just call Inflection and trading the ranges is available (yesterday was good for that).

The Inflections are also by definition "breakout imminent", so when the dam breaks (and it will) we musn't be positioned on the wrong side.

Often waiting for the big breaker, then a retest of Shabs' structure will allow us some pips with the eventual larger move also.

Keep our eyes open today and tomorrow for such moves, as its primed to go at some point lol.

All the best, traders.

Was dummy trading this pair to try and spot FVGaps after a break in market structure. ( Something alluded to in the above video I posted)
I think price broke structure short, came back and triggered a short at the FVGap( there were two I noted ,one below the other) down to a previous formation low I had marked on a 15 minute chart.
( The short via the FVGap coincides with my normal trade entry via my channel approach)
What do you think chaps?

I think you are confused with what an FVG is.

Look for an unusually large candle move, the green bull candle is an example. The FVG is between the 2 bear candles either side of that candle.

The larger the candle the better, as what we are assuming is that during that rapid move, many orders were not triggered and MM's will go back to fill them.

The direction we are hoping for is that price resumes the same direction after the pullback into an FVG.

This FVG did get filled, but price did not rally back up, so it failed.

We did get a new break of structure (BOS) and that did give a pullback and drop which is sometimes a better move to watch out for, IMO.

The pullback that you showed on your diagram, is a pullback to a BOS from the other side, ( where your black line is ) and that did work.

But, I take that back. Cuz I don't zoom out everyday I get lost with my stuff and tend to lose sight of the bigger picture.

This week has been sideways for the most part.

If it still drops massively whilst I am away ( it hasn't breached the other side of the channel ) I will blame spzd !

{quote} Cheers Mark, Much appreciated pal. I post charts from my own viewpoint, so they are opinion based only. But did I "invent" those opinions, well no. I received all my good workable info from others (a lot here from the FF) and then I developed a discretionary way of trading from all that. In regards to the 50% mentioned. I also remember reading ages ago where Gann (back in 1935 or thereabouts, before my time ) wrote in an article suggesting a trader to, "see whether the stock is near any halfway point ". So there is little new...

Hello Pete,

imo opinions should be for trading styles only, entries/exits aggressive/conservative

but not reading the market, we should all see the same thing, old timers solved that for us but none of us want to listen

GANN talked a lot about 50% for periods (day/week/month/year)

Richard Donchian gave us his channel which is a simple high/low/50% at the end of periods (can be replaced by Bollinger bands)

Charles Dow gave us rules to identify trend stages HHHL-LHLL

by knowing these principals, divergence and OB/OS indi's well make more sense to confirm high/low of Dow reading and direction

Got it.
Interpretation and analysis which most? = noise? = has a deleterious effect?

Nice talk by Jake Bernstein here. His objective approach (not his setups) his approach of process not interpretation. No 'I think', 'The market wants to' etc... no blah blah noise noise noise noise.

Exactly, Divergences are leading indi's, thank you for the video.
but I bet you an ARM & LEG no one will listen

most traders want to learn from their mistakes (the hard way) but they repeat the same mistakes for YEARS. sadly to say :/

Hi Kwt4x & fellow traders

Yes, there are many principles, discerned & stated from times gone past and we can take knowledge already found and incorporate it with todays trading for sure.

Gann, Donchian & Dow, Wyckoff and others have described market mechanics in their views, plus divergences, hi’s & lows also later.

With current day charting we can also well observe our upcoming events even though this may not be precise to the minute.

To deal with that, often a trader just waiting & observing will allow us to get the gist of what can transpire (and relatively soon also, ie in a day or two).

For example, periods of Inflection to me are designating a breakout as imminent and can be causally observed on our charts should we take the time.

The day is done for me, and I’m hitting the sack right now,
There’s some red news coming up in New York while I prefer waking up to see what the outcomes were on the charts in the morning .

All the best, to all traders
