Quick update on the EJ. Hit it's latest target at 127.93, where I exited two trades and left one open, with next target at 126.87, then 126.68. Trade well, everyone! {image}

Also hit target 128.252, bounced quite nicely for a retrace.
Horses for courses.

Hi BWilliam,
It's all talk so far, and that giant flushing sound you may be hearing is money starting to move out of equities. Let's see how long it takes to get to untaper talk. There are many fundamental pieces starting to move and I doubt anyone has the stomach for what's in front of the markets. Best wishes on your project, but hope you hang around for the upcoming show. Advanced macro economics class is about to begin. Trade well!

Nice trade. Well done! The retrace set up a nice sell opportunity for me, but glad you got into this at your master algo bounce level. What is your target? Are you still committed to the buy trade?

This was drawn on Saturday/Sunday. While working on my projects, trying to digest other things(BW's). This week the price was inversed. Will post next weeks movement. Looks like inversed days has easy pips.
Cheers

Didn't trade it. I just said if pushed I would go Long.
Where I would go long would have to be off of a predetermined level.
It hit the predetermined level 128.252 retraced 68 pips. I had that drawn in the pic.
Better candidates this week for my prefered way of trading.
Keep posting your charts, not my way of trading but still helpful.

LOL...sorry you didn't get on board the EJ. What are you trading? I'm also trading the GA, EA, E$, and the $CAD this week. Trade well!

Very little this week.
I trade reversals, so no jumping into trends.
I consider all 28 pairs, several of which look about maxed out so will aim for them next week.
Covid jab last Sunday, been sleepwalking most of the week hence no trading.

Let me clean up a typo before going into the weekend: the next targets are at 127.87 and then 127.68.

Hope you have recovered from the Covid vaccine. I have no personal experience with it, but I hear it can be rough. I am happy to post charts if you are okay with it, but perhaps there is more interest in discussing something besides the EJ. I traded the GA and EA last week and could add them to the mix, if anyone is interested. I'll sit quietly and wait for some indication of interest.

A question for anyone here "in the know":

Is there a reason why most of you don't trade the EU?
Do other pairs behave more structured or predictable?

And how do you guys feel about Bitcoin?
Someone on another forum told me this:
"Bitcoin is by far the best instrument I have ever seen to learn how to trade.
It is absolutely brutal though."

Hi Onra

I trade EURUSD just about 100% of the times because of one reason.

Its good liquidity levels offers breakout moves with great predictability - meaning there are less gaps and lots of order clusters to prevent runaway spikes.
Therefore I know whether a move will last X pips before collapsing into a pullback by just studying current live volume data numbers.
That means I can trade very large with little risk, and therefore trade with or against the trend knowing what's going to happen soon.

Big movements are no help to a trader if you can't predict direction with any certainly.

Bitcoin on the other hand different rules and totally unpredictable due to liquidity issues and manic traders who are just gamblers without any fear.
Not to mention its even more manipulated by big players than Forex is, by a long way.

Cheers Rick

Thanks Rick; that sounds great;
having an idea of both direction and range...!

Volume in FX is debatable...; do you just use your brokers (spot) data or 6E future volumes?

I use both.

I consider Tick data as order activity and I see 6E futures volume as size of those orders (of course futures market is hundreds of times smaller).
Seriously tick data offers good expansion information, but 6E futures volume will blow the brokers / educators biggest lie to smithereens.

I thought about this thread this morning, when the EJ became a solid -- buy! The EJ bounced off 127.94/95, and finally became tradeable today, at least for me. Three trades at about 1.2897 each, in what became an accumulation range, with a 15 pip stop and 40 pip target. Two trades banked and one still running. New stop is set at 1.2925. Good trading everyone!

They say there's a consolidation and then after it is followed by a manipulation. After that you get an expansion.

I think this is incorrect. A consolidation, accumulation, distribution, re-accumulation, re-distribution, trading range, or whatever you call it should just be called the manipulation. The end result of a consolidation is manipulation and therefore it make senses to say when a consolidation starts the market is entering the manipulation mode or process. The final product of a consolidation is a manipulation and then after it is followed by an expansion for profit making (markup or mark-down).

I can see 2 things - manipulation and expansion.
