The blue horizontal line has the same time/date on both charts.
Look at the Cross on the left chart with the historical data.
Where is the cross on the right chart with the strategy tester?
Clearly Repaints.

You are comparing apples to oranges. That is not repainting. The algorithm requires previous bars to perform its calculations. One chart may have 10000 bars of historical data to work with, and the other (e.g. Strategy Tester) may have only 40 bars. So, the calculation is different.

It is good you are using MT4 Strategy Tester. Now -- let it run in slow motion to see if it goes back in time to change the lines. If you are not sure what repainting really is, then run the ZigZag indicator in MT4 Strategy Tester. The ZigZag indicator is a known repainter -- and that's okay. It was intended to repaint and not be used for Entry and Exit signals. When you see how the ZigZag indicator goes back in time to change its line, then you will understand what repainting is.

I'm done -- I'll now turn this over to you guys to figure out.
Anyone else having the problem that the indicator is extremely slowing down MT4?

PayTheBid, repainting means that an indicator (in this case the yellow line), when viewed live, is positioned at point(A) at time (B).

Then at time (c)- (a later time), the indicator, when viewed historically at time (B), is no longer at position (A). IE, when viewed historically, the indicator has repainted to a new position.

Your second pic shows no such thing.

All your second pic shows (or suggests), is that the indicator is a predictive indicator, and that on this occasion, it predicted correctly that price would go up.

Nothing more....

I don't use indicators myself except fibs and TL's of more than 1 type, so no dreaming here of a holy grail

But I do wander the rooms of FF when a little bored and looking for something to say, no matter how pointless at times

PaytheBid, LOL again! You did not read my post very well before replying . I did not say the indi dont repaint. The reason I laugh at your chart because there is no difference between them. See the red arrows? See the candles where the MA crosses. Are there any difference?

The yellow line was pulled up after hand when the move was done.....check it live

Mario sorry but if you cannot see it with one look I cannot help you, it takes years to be able to see some things
I usually do not answer these kind of things from noobies and I wont continue this cause I have no time

It does not repaint in real-time, BUT run it for a while, reinitialize it and... totally new values...

If it looks to good to be true, it normally is.
OK.....my friends!!!

I will do this but please do the same.... I will place it on a 1 min EURUSD chart and babysit it.... (YES TRADING IS A LONELY PROFESSION...LOL)

And in will be back....WITH THE REPAINTING ISSUE....

Ok boys and girls..... AND ROCKET SCIENTISTS!!!

Here are 2 pics.....it did not take long, simple..... if a bar has closed and after that the indicator changes position it repaints.....

Look at the circled bar (that has closed) and where the yellow line is(I placed a red horizontal line so we all can see....
and look at it after a couple of bars it is not touching it anymore.....so that means that the price pulled that yellow line in its direction

Case closed.....that for me is repainting

1000000 hours of screen time do not fool .... I thought maybe I went a little crazy lol

Exactly, this is the point I was making.
In the example given, no repainting occurs.
This does not mean the indi does not repaint, only that the example given did not show the repainting issue.
The fact that it continued to rise as price increased is not relevant to the issue of repainting.
