Anyone know how to add a moving average to a MACD indicator? I want to add a 100 EMA to the MACD signal in the MACD indicator window.

Hi, That is simple. Open Navigator and select Moving Average, click it and drag it with your mouse to the MACD window and release it. When the parameters screen opens go to Apply To and scroll down to First Indicator's data and select 100 in the period and any other parameter and say OK. Done.

Rydnek

yes there is. you must be doing it wrong.

create the macd first then drag and drop the moving average onto the SAME WINDOW the macd is in.

i am wondering after combining them, is there a way to actually edit them together in metaeditor ????

thanks

i agree with earthsmate.

it doesn't work like that on my MT 4 either. when i drag the MA over to the MAC, nothing happens. when i keep doing it, the MA opens on the price chart not the MAC, RSI or any other indicator

it can easily be done on the the java platforms but MT 4 won't.

redneck my MT doesn't have an 'apply to' button, and the equivalent 'attach to a chart' button doesn;t work for indicators it seems.

the first pic here is to show you where all the things mentioned above are:

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...ewok/step1.jpg

The Second pic is Step 1, click on "Moving average" and drag it onto the MACD window as shown below:

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...ewok/step2.jpg

Step 2, Go to the drop down list name "Apply To:" (called apply to in the picture) and click the arrow. Then select "First Indicator's Data" (named first indi's data in the pic):

Step 3, after clicking on "First Indicator's Data", select "OK" as shown below:

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...ewok/step4.jpg

Now you should have your average on the indicator:

If that didn't work, either you didn't follow the directions properly, or your version of MT4 is either extremely old because you don't let it update itself, or it's not MT4.

Maybe they are just double clicking on, as opposed to DRAGGING the moving average?

Just trying to help. I've never had a problem doing it.
