Hi To all, my question is is the chaos trading system good, is it valid?, did it perform well to you by following its rules, no deviations from rules nor discounts nor adding indicators but as it is? Or is another one to sell books and coaching?
I am sorry for being so direct but after reading the thread i would like to know at least if there is someone who still trades it and fits to its personality.

The big misconception is that what makes the system successful are the indicators. That is false. The system is about adding on aggressively when a market breaks out and then trends. So to do it properly, you need a sufficient account size to add-on and still not risk too much of the account. So if you adhere to the rules 100%, you're adding on when each indicator gives a signal. And each of the indicators have multiple setups for signals.

Having said that, the system was designed for daily charts during a period when markets only trended 15-20% of the time and the rest of the time were relatively flat. Forex, obviously isn't like that. So you'll need to find an instrument and timeframe where the indicators and setups make sense. I found 15 min. charts and trading the London open to be the best.

profit unity updated their course choas is an stragety in 1995 since they updated many times after chaos second edition now their latest course in 2012 is they add elliot wave in their method independent course in profit unity is their latest updated course

The way to know is to backtest it yourself

Anyone still using this system successfully?

I started using it but i found very discouraging that the main objective is to counter trend while in the past the alligator was actually used to always trade with the trend. I'm having a hard time to get into the 1st candle that start the trend, also the AO being the biggest position size turned me off, since this is very unreliable. Fractals that used to be the most reliable are no longer. This is why i'm looking of someone is still having success trading the same as the book 2ed implies or i should just keep looking an other alternative.

hey booker..... the chaos system works, or at least does for me..... but only in a weekly trend following manner then using the lower timeframes for entrys.... aka, top down approach.... the only indicators i use are the alligator, awesome, and fractals......

the ac, mfi and others are to fickle for me..... i do not like rules that require 'user discretion'.....

there will be draw downs at the trend changes......h

now they updated much their latest trading till 2012 as far i know wise man1 2 and 3 are the latest with elliot wave concept

they made elliot wave simpler

Maximizing profits and MM.

Like I mentioned im a fan of B. Williams, he wrote 3 books, and what I do is pick up the best from each, (in my opinion), after backtesting them.
Check this EURAUD 12 Hour chart, (I use a period converter), I like 12 hours, not too slow, and almost as reliable as a Daily...but giving me more opportunities.
Actually I took this trade, made 1,8 R which is fine...but my question is: how can I make the most of every one of my winners. (basic trading principle).

Note the High of the 18th of June.
Time, Price, Momentum and Pattern all are aligned for a short campaign.

And here´s the potential campaign:
Entries are numbered in PINK. (1,2,3,4).

Using the pyramiding tactics of BW last book.
1- 1/5 of my R (my personal risk size).
2 - The full R.
3- 4/5
4- 3/5
5- 2/5.

1- Is a bearish divergent bar, from Bill Williams last book.
Using the pyramiding tactics of the same book.That entry takes only 1/5 of my R (my personal risk size).
2-Is a jurikMA average cross on the 4 H TF.
3-Is a bearish reversal of the DTOSC 8 in the chart, after the potential eow2.
4-Is the fractal break of the potential w1.
5.Is a conservative entry, at the eow4, with a stop at the eow2.

Using something similar from B.W first book, take profit on the biggest lot at the first 13 DTOSC reversal, which coincided with the end of w3. (Buy 2)
Then close all the rest at a conservative eow5. (Buy 1345)

Same campaign potential results: 5,96 R. (almost 3 times more profit for the same swing), using only logical entries and exits.

let this be clear

chaos theory and fractals has nothing to do with multiple dimensions or the fractality of the price itself. It is just a HH LL breakout strategy.

Bill seems talented to tell a good story to back this strat up, but it is not the HG, it's not even profitable

Let me give you a clue on Ellliot Wave, something I found extremely usefull:
Start your analysis on the MONTHLY chart!
Even if you daytrade, start with the monthly and work your EW down.It tends to give you a clearer perspective.
