I'm the same.

SL makes me crash and burn, I use floating (mental) soft SL. Opened my eyes to risk management. Made me curb bank position sizing and better understand entries.

I agree though, many people frown on this, but i've seen it work for many traders, and it's kind of an unspoken thing that I think more people do than one would believe based off of content you find about trading.

sometimes they give instants move
sometimes just some shaking and back to sideway
some pairs when they play around support/resistence so need some volume to break those level..that we need news/data in play to push price..
estimate direction depend to data itself..if important data so lots of volume in play..

If price closes at 1.3240 on UCAD, would be a good entry for 1h BUY signal.

stop loss..
just a tools that give by brokers
depend how our skill or technical trading in play..
when we start learning from below we used them so we always need them..
different people so will have different opinion or style of trading..
most important is we are comfortable with our trading style..
