I had already thought about that when I posted the data. I am fully aware that demo environment is not the same as real environment. But could execution in the demo environment really be hundreds of times worse than real environment? Compare 274ms with 0.868ms.

Why not slow everything down for demo and save bandwidth. I would imagine a good number of these companies are getting tired of all the free charting they are giving away. Most people who are doing testing or learning the trading platform won't notice the difference. I mean seriously, how much will most systems being tested be impacted by execution times that are sub 1/2 second?
Have you actually timed you executions in the real environment? I have at a few other brokers. 274ms is actually good and normal.

It is NOT the time lapse between received data ticks. The word "tick" relates to CPU ticks of your terminal computer.

hey hyper..... perhaps one of us is incorrect on several points.......

the best solution might be to contact stringo or rosh over at metaquotes..... show them your code and ask them if there is anyway order execution time can be derived from it...... and you might ask of the true purpose of gettickcount().....

both rosh and stringo seem to be really nice guys, and i'm sure they might clear up any confusion....... phy on metaquotes forum is very knowledgeable also......

Being that this is an IBFX thread...I suppose you know that the proposed requirements are set to change again soon...to...10:1 Leverage for US Dealers...yes it is true...it seems that many US Traders that are poorly capitalized will be leaving for offshore dealers.

IBFX is a fine broker. good platform, great people, prompt support. I hope the new rules do not hurt them too much. They recently moved their servers. now in/near NYC. really good move as their MT4 servers are now in the heart of the US financial district.

Hi i am new to this thread and new to FX. i have never used MT4 platform before.
I am using the demo platform of ODL... any comments would be commendable as i intend to open an account with 500$. They don't have micro lots the standard lot size come with 10000 and above...

i wish to trade few pairs such as EU GU EJ
Features:
money withdrawal is within 2-3 days
They are regulated
Tight spread
Sharia compliants (Islamic) (meaning no interest (swap) charged for weekend & overnite trades)
UK broker though i trade from saudi arabia

So i kinda like them.. but i need comments from anyone who is using ODL

IBFX are supposed to open an offshore office soon apparently.
I still have accounts with IBFX, though I trade smaller amounts with them.

I have also opened accounts offshore with www.tadawulfx.com and www.fxopen.com

They have both been good for me so far. I really like IBFX still the best and the cost of withdrawing is more with tadawulfx and fxopen, but these two brokers have been acceptable as far as trading and customer service.

Still waiting for IBFX to open their UK branch though...that is my ultimate hope.

I think they should lower the account stop-out level as a work-around to the lower leverage imposed by NFA. I have found that it makes a huge difference, whereas the more leverage is increased, the less effect it has on the distance to account stop out. e.g. I have found that increasing leverage from 500 to 1000 hardly makes any difference.

You are well behind all the other U.S brokers who have opened an overseas office. May be I'll give your UK office a try when it opens. I just hope you don't end up chasing everybody off again with massive spreads.

Hey guys... I wanted to help clarify our average server time to complete each trade request. We measure these in milliseconds. The clock starts when the request reaches our server and ends when the confirmation is sent.

Also- other definitions are on our transparency page... just move your mouse over ? next to each stat.
