Hi

Since the beginning of this year, I use Metatrader EA's. However, they are not profitable, because of this issue:

- Profitable trades cannot be closed

It's not because of the Code, the Code is OK. It's just the broker that is not reliable. Ok I got to admit that it's a Market Maker.

I realized that when it comes to auto trading, platform reliability is absolutely critical. Now my question especially for the pro's who run automatic systems: Which broker is reliable for Automatic Trading? Any inputs regarding platform reliability in general?

AVAFX don't have the best spread neither the best execution ???

check the pair you want to trade and you location unless you want to use VPS? Also which EA you want to trade. Take care from ea's 99% of those sold make only $$ for the sellers!

Hi Trader121,

Here you can find a list of forex brokers offering free VPS. All of them maintain that all EAs are allowed, including scalping EAs. I would choose a large regulated broker such as FXCM or Gain Capital.
I have not been able to isolate all the different things that can happen with a broker. I have an EA that runs on 3-5 demo accounts and they all get different results. I have the same EA running on live accounts and the results there are different also. I think you should assume that there are too many variables that you cannot control and just test multiple brokers. Signing up for a practice account is pretty painless.

Also, I found that if you code you EA to continually retry closing the order, it works well.

I have a bunch of brokers that I test on but here is a short list of the recent ones I have been using.
FinFX, FXCM, Oanda, forex.com
Most of the automated EA's will make money, for the developer/seller - not you. Given that, are you sure you want to head down the automated route? And keep in mind that the above statement refers to paid Fx robots, so you can guess how the free ones are gonna turn out.
You may want to opt for manual trading - just my 2 cents.

level, what do the pro's think bout this and how do the pro Quants run their systems?

One option would be to move torwards API trading.

Any experiences with the LMAX API?

The pro quants are NOT using LMAX API ...
Ok this is my question on this thead and thats what this thead is about. How do they handle the platform and connection. What broker they use.

Any articles, resources regarding this topic?

does everyone think that automatic trading is the bet choice? as for me I prefer to find my own strategy and in these case all the mistakes would be mine)

Work with what you are comfortable with.
Personally I like to be the master of my own destiny.

Some people use auto trade because they cant pull the trigger getting in or out of the trade.

Remember no strategy is perfect and both human's and robot's strategies need to be constantly tweaked.

Personally prefer manual trading to auto and it is my opinion that automated trading rarely delivers but that's just my 2 cents!
