hello eagle85, I've been following for a while without intervening in this really interesting post for me as a beginner, but I see that your results seem the most consistent and interesting , could you send me your set files in pm (if possible) by day and week? with also indicated the settings of the csms if different from the standards to test them? thank you, have a nice day

Much appreciated, been using 17.02 and like the consistency of it.

If I may ask for small cosmetic reversal - in 17.03 you introduced composite index for showing FX pair strength ranking. If I may suggest, 17.02 way of showing Cur1 strength level and separately Cur2 strength level (see yellow box in attached screenshot) is at least for me way more informative as it is immediately visible actual absolute strength level of one currency vs other. It helps me to determine quickly how MUCH the currencies are exceeding the pre-set trade level. In a way it is redundant info, because individual strength levels are displayed left in the column but it is probably down to how I process visual information.

Individual currency weights are very useful from 17.03.

Many thanks for your efforts and good luck going forward!

EDIT: Aha, now I see that the change concerns PA logic indicator. Feel free to disregard my post, or consider when you feel like updating 17.XX as well

Indicator is working as it should be. I can't say anything about the ea since I don't use an expert advisor while trading.

This has been an interesting week with no daily baskets triggering this week. I can't remember the last time we had a week with no trade the whole week. Well I guess it was one of those weeks where it was best to sit out and wait. I didn't make any profit this week with this strategy, but I also didn't make any loss so I'll take it and SOH for next week.

Not trading is also a choice and a good one sometimes

My modded daily live account triggered this week 4 real baskets. I pulled a plug on 2 of those due to only 2-3 pairs being in the basket. 1 time I got SL. Today would have got massive payback during NY session but being the whole day at -2.5% DD made close the basket at breakeven during NY open. Only to watch the profits rocket away. Oh well, should have trusted the indicators, which did not change their mind all thru the day.

Enjoy the weekend!

{quote} 1) imagine there's only 4h time frame in mt 4/5 and someone asks you to calculate 3 period daily ema. You can't switch to daily chart and put a 3 period ema indicator so there's only one option left which is using 3 × 6 = 18 period ema on h4 time frame.(4h x 6 = 24h = 1day) In CMSM we use multiplier to find the direction of trend in higher time frames. 2) you don't need to use any other additional filters while using CMSM since CMSM calculates and shows the exact situation of the currency strengths at that moment. It's always good to be...

Hello grandaevus,
Very useful description on how you use your indicator for manual trading.
Just a couple of questions:
1. do you rely on the 17.03 indicator or you also take in consideration 22.01?
2. What TF is best based on your experience? Weekly, Daily, or a combination of more than one (e.g. Weekly and Daily together)?
3. Lets say you take in consideration 17.03 Weekly, and lets say its Tuesday, and you have the first two suggestions Buy gbpusd, Buy audusd, do you wait a time period or do you just wait for a low of the two pairs and buy lets say on a strong support?
Thank you,
Marco

For nearly 3 years I've been searching for a set up than can be traded everyday successfully. I think I must have tested hundreds of various settings over the past 33 months, sometimes getting close, but not quite there yet until now! W1 shows the general picture of the trend direction. D1 shows when to enter. That is, how the same instrument appears in D1, you need to look at the chart (evaluate) and you can enter.
Sorry I do not speak English. Through a translator.

Here's what I found from Grandaevus past posts on how he uses the CMSM indicator manually. There is also some information that is useful. I don't know if he's still trading like this or changed versions of the indicator but the last I read from this thread was that he was using CMSM 20.03. (It will be nice if he gave us an update on what he's using these days and how's he's using it). Search for these posts.....

Edit: Mrcubl basically has it pegged in his post above. If the Weekly Candle is Green, wait for price somewhere around Support or where ever you think PA tells you the bottom is and enter Long. I believe Grandaevus uses Pivots to assist in his entries.

1) I use ma based CMSM ver 23.05.

2) My preferred time frame is weekly.

3) I try to cath corrections in 4h time frame while looking for strong support & resistances in D1 time frame.
