On the sidelines until post news but EURAUD looks absolutely primed for a rip higher either pre news or from the news. No specific reason other than gut instinct. Will look for any opportunity post Draghi comments.

Well, EURAUD certainly moved higher! However from the look of the move and listening to Draghi's comments, it looked well and truly overdone.

I won't forget this trade in a hurry, a big dollop of luck to get an entry at the very high of the move but had my finger on the trigger for a few minutes before finally entering at what I believed to be a sound entry based on technicals and a fundamental move. Held my nerve coming down and covered the stop along the way. Used a smaller risk than normal incase it legged higher again so in terms of a gain it was equal to a couple of normal trades despite it being a +115 pip move. Adjusting risk is a great tool in these situations for my style of trading.

I missed the big moves, but managed to get a clean 35 pip short. The biggest problem is to follow the rules and keep your trigger finger under control...

This is a modified AO with PushAlerts. It saves some screentime. Alerts on zero cross, SignalLine cross, or both.

Hi Ludo,

You're trading the methodology of Rockypoint not actually divergence trading. Nice trade though.

GBPUSD trade has concluded. Price has been kept in check by the MA and it also lined up with the 1 hour chart also which is always a good sign.

Looking at the pip range chart, price had been hovering around the daily open level (black line) and the oscillator began to move lower. I was tossing up whether to try and hold it for a break of 1.2230 area and missed the +20 a couple of times but decided +20 would be a good start to the day and always plenty of other opportunities to look at.

Just been to watch Jack Reacher, 7/10.

Here's the EURUSD chart. I felt 1.0890 area to be a good area for a potential bounce but with the Euro moving pretty slowly I knew anything above 10 pips would be an okay trade. I was watching price closely around the 1.0900 handle and timed a good exit.

Markets in a massive lull for the start of the week so far. GBPUSD grinding higher and EURAUD ever so slowly crawling higher. Hopefully NY open can be the shot in the arm to get things moving.

Exited the EURAUD long for +12 and +20 respectively as I took two entries as shown below. Felt 1.4250 was a great area for support and took half size at 1.4261 and then again at 1.4253. Looks like I exited a few pips too soon but felt price was stalling and didn't want a reversal. A good setup when price diverges on a support level.

Now to deal with GBPUSD. Will look to add to the short around 1.2265 area.

Quick trade on EURAUD. This looked a good opportunity for a short trade with price hitting a double top and the AO making lower highs. Exited for +14 and whilst I didn't maximise the gain, still relatively pleased with the result.

Added a short at 1.2245 on GBPUSD and looking for an exit at 1.2220 area for both trades.

Thought I'd post the conclusion of the GBPUSD trade. As mentioned above, I added to the trade at 1.2245 and was looking for an exit around the 1.2220 area. Ended up exiting at 1.2218 for a good result and a nice start to the week.

Price kept trying to break 1.2245 area but never succeeded and after what seemed like the 4th or 5th attempt divergence confirmed a weak rejection and I took that as a signal to short it.

First trade of the day, GBPAUD short. GBPUSD had been horribly rangebound for the Asian session but GBPAUD was showing some direction and some excellent action around certain levels as evidenced here:

Price was stalling on the Cam level and divergence confirmed a chance at going lower. Aimed for the big round number at 1.6000 and a nice way to start the day, +28..

Well, GPBUSD and EURUSD are comically bad today with ranges under 35 and 30 pips respectively. Keeping an eye on EURAUD and GBPAUD as they're heading lower and looking for a suitable entry.

{quote} 3 indicators in total being the Awesome Oscillator (AO), CCI and Ichimoku indicator, all 3 are standard in MT4. I use both types of divergence being hidden and regular. I prefer to use hidden to stay within a trend. I will use support/resistance to confirm a trade also on time based charts, predominately on the M15. I look for small bits, often. +15/20/25 pips 2 or 3 times a day is all I'm after. I trade from 5pm-11pm local time which is 8am-4pm London time.

Thanks for setting up the page flip flop. I apologise if this is considered a stupid question but I hope you will answer for my own benefit. What part of you're strategy does ichimoko play?

thanks
