Very tempted by a long on GBPAUD but feel it's still a good 20 pips from where I'd like to enter (1.6665 area), another 30 mins then calling it a night with +45 pips for today thus far.

Hi Kodakwhite, the issue I would have is that divergence can sometimes be very subjective. Plus for my style of trading I enjoy the aspect of finding the best setup and applying a degree of evaluation instead of any divergence setup.

I'm sure it could be coded but not for me.

On larger time frame actually should be all right. 1h divergences are very powerful

A nice trade here to start off the day, took a while to get going and a few false starts but kept with it and price eventually worked its way lower. The reason for wanting to short was this great area on the time based chart. Price was held up above the level in Asia and then when it broke down later it was held down. I entered whilst the bearish pinbar was forming.

The interesting part of this trade was I wanted to try and add to the trade once price cleared the rising trendline. I very rarely add to a trade when it's running in profit but I felt the setup justified the extra entry.

Last trade of the night with EURAUD. I was looking for a potential long entry due to a nice rising trendline on the 15 minute chart with price continually rising and respecting it.

Found a good entry on the pip range chart and whilst it initially dropped by around 10 pips, the key element was price stayed true to the trendline on the time based chart. A +23 pip trade.

What a day! Firstly hope no-one got burned too badly on any GBP pairs, brutal move. My main PC has corrupted itself so I've had to improvise and use the laptop and then attach a bigger monitor to see the charts.

Avoiding any GBP pairs until post NFP, will focus on any EURAUD or EURUSD setups.

Didn't take long to find a setup. EURAUD has been in a tight range for most of the day and price has been held down by the daily open area and the 85 EMA as seen below:

On the pip range chart I missed the initial entry but price had a small retrace which gave me a suitable entry which I took. Aimed for the area of the daily low and snatched a good exit as price has quickly reversed 30 pips and now back at the daily open level. On the sidelines until post NFP now.

Final trade of the week and waited for NFP to settle. A miss on the forecasted number but a good revision from the previous month caused the dollar to initially weaken then strengthen and then ultimately weaken again. Around 15 mins post the figures I began looking for an opportunity and EURUSD looked good. I was looking for price to clear the daily open area and then stay above for a chance to shoot at 1.1175 area as seen below:

Looking at the pip range chart, my bias was to the upside and when price made a higher low and the oscillator gave a lower low for hidden divergence and price held above the cloud I took my entry. Left enough room to reach the potential target and took +20 pips.

All in all a good day with +45 pips and a solid week despite the hardware failure today!

Have a good weekend all.

New week ahead but potentially a quiet day with North America having a Bank Holiday.

Small position on GBPAUD short currently.

Out at breakeven after reaching +18 after spread. Maybe too greedy on a quiet day. Setup to follow.

Last trade is a short EURUSD running.

Setup for EURUSD short which was successful. EURUSD on a drift down for most of the Asian session on the back of a relatively strong USD against most majors (USD up against GBP, NZD and AUD).

Found a nice bit of bearish divergence and found a reasonable entry and exited for +19 pips. Will take that on a small range day. I didn't take +20 on GBPAUD as I feel that pair has a lot more to offer than EURUSD in terms of movement.

And here is the GBPAUD trade. On the M15 chart, price had been kept down by the 85 EMA and I was looking for that to continue. As noted above, the trade reached +18 at it's highest point and moved my stop to breakeven. Unfortunately price retraced back up and went a further 10 pips higher before reversing hard. Not sure if this was bad timing or just poor management but equally I won't ever be too disheartened with a breakeven result.

First trade of the evening and had to react quick to the setup.

Price had been respecting the 85 EMA on the 15 minute chart as evidenced here:

And here's the setup on the pip based chart. Price made a lower low whilst the AO made a higher low to complete bullish divergence. Targeted the last swing high for +21 pips.

Final trade of the night on GBPUSD. I'd been watching for a break of the 1.2305 level for a good 90 mins and it failed several times. When the pinbar formed off of the trendline, I felt it was a good chance to get short.

Looking at the pip range chart, price stayed constant whilst the oscillator made sharper lower highs. Took a reasonable entry and aimed for the cam level at 1.2261 and got positive slippage and netted +31 pips. A solid day.

GBPUSD being very volatile with some big swings and the range is over 220 pips today already. Trying to tackle it from the short side and this opportunity presented itself after London open. Price had risen 100+ pips within 45 minutes and reached a level I felt had a good chance of at least some activity. A +36 pip trade to start the day.

Final trade of the night. EURAUD had a sharp sell off to a potentially good area of support as highlighted on the 4 hour chart.

On the pip range chart, divergence appeared with the oscillator and once in, a rising trendline formed allowing me to stay with it instead of snatching at profits. Originally targeted +20 but bumped up to +25 when I moved the stop to breakeven.

Painful trade

Entered on solid divergence and price hitting the daily open area, seemed a good entry. Aimed for 1.2174 (30 pips) and missed it by 1 pip. Price wound its way all the way back to breakeven unfortunately and took me out.

Maybe should have exited when price had several attempts of breaking that little level. Ah well, looking for the next opportunity now.
