theoretically it should enter every cross of the 34 SMA either way but in actual fact there are bugs in the re-entry logic in the EA so not every trade is taken

Anybody what are the rules for opening new trades once they have all been closed? Does price need to cross the MA again? Or will the EA enter add on positions?

so basically we are basically relying on random order entry logic? Sometimes it works as intended other times it doesn't? How does this effect the performance I know you have traded it for a little while.

Don't know about the randomness of order entry logic but when I was playing with the EA I noticed that there were times when it took a trade in one direction and then closed it within a few seconds and traded in the opposite direction. Then there were times when it would place two trades at the same entry price one after the other. I suppose these are glitches.

I've seen this too. It appears to be due to bugs in the EA. Entry signals are supposed to be on bar close with actual entry on the next bar open. The only time you'd see an intra-bar close would be if a stop were hit, but even in that case it shouldn't reverse direction.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I PMd Tarwada if he can post the source code, so we can fix these bugs or pay a developer too.

I asked several times so I wouldn't hold my breath.
I've been working on my own EA just for this reason and I intend to release the source file as soon as it's working.

EA seems buggy, run a visual backtest to see what I mean. Higher time frames are better.

Can somebody do me a favor and write all the rules for this EA to be coded properly since OP doesn't want to share source code. Also put in any nice to have features, so it can open trades properly/close/apply trailing stops, ect. And I will try to get it coded.

Thanks

With the help of Desi this is what I have as a spec so far feel free to modify and clarify rules.

1. Open 1st Trade when crosses Moving Average
Settings for period
Setting for MA type

2. Additional Trades in direction of MA(above/below)
candle closes in red and the close is above the close of the previous candle (sell if the candle closes in green and the close isbelow the close of the previous candle).

3. Money management rules for 1st trade and additional trades:
1st trade has separate settings for B/E, TP/ Stop ect.
B/E, T/P, Trailing, Stop
Lot size per trade
Stop option as Swing High/Low for 1st trade and all other trades

4. Some closing rules
Setting for exit all trades on EMA cross opposite direction(true/false)
Exit all trades when profit/losses reach X $ amount
Exit all trades when profit/loses reach X pip amount

Everything is applied to per pair no global account settings.
Options are True/False

IF exit on MA cross is not enabled, do we take trades in the opposite direction? Or wait for all trades to close?

I think i will leave that out, just going to make things more complicated, if you think it's too far disable the EA.

I think there is a slippage parameter where don't take trade if slippage is 3pips or something, ect. but volatility last 2 Fridays ago when GBP collapsed did excellent.
