I can forward test it also, what time frame was the backtest? I can try to backtest but I never trust them always seem shitty lol. Also how do you insert a stop loss -100? there is no setting for stop loss, does he mean stop all trades or something?

rude yes, but very deserved. last 5 months of results. note to all the impatient people, this is a TREND FOLLOWING SYSTEM. as you can see in the screenshot below, the *percentage* of winning trades is low. as per original thread starters specifications, many linear small losses, overtaken by a few expotentially profitable gains. but i'll let you judge if this is a system you would like to trade: {image} {quote}

Hi Blamshakk, What settings are you using? Default?

I can't replicate those results, however running a visual backtest the EA seems to only be applying the trailing stop to one position at a time until it is taken out. The other positions are left to run until the other rules close them. Doesn't seem to matter what version I'm using.

Yea same his settings just were on a steady losses and nothing more, again this is why backtesting is utterly trash in metatrader. It's the biggest pile of shit I have ever witnessed. 100 out of 100 people will get different results.

Does this EA have built in slippage settings? if not i think we need an option for this incase a broker goes nuts and has some sort of insane spread amount like 10-50pips.

You can. The folks on the original HFT thread do that. I am in the early days of trading this system manually too.

Am on the major pairs - so far so good - I have begun to realize that you have to take the trades as it goes along and not try to analyze and second guess each one. If its time to get out of the trade, I do so. If it indicates to place a trade, I do so. I'm using the original HFT method and not using any other suggestions made on the thread. It works in keeping the losses linear and the profits exponential and it has helped me keep in check my emotion. Am using the H4 TF. As mentioned by others, it is a trend following system so am giving myself 6mths to a year to see how it plays out.

In the original HFT thread Dreamliner says that it does not matter what you use to get into the initial trend - could be a moving average cross or any other method - just that he favours the 34 SMA.

After further backtesting, it does seem like the EA is only applying the trailing stop to the last position opened. Using the visual backtest I can see times where it should have closed all the positions by training stop, but it only closes the last one.

I think news affect any EA, if you are in a position at that time the EA don't know about it, I think is a good idea to stop trading on news. But I dont know how to apply that. But if you allready In a position? How you manage that?

For me I just let it run on (am using it manually) and if it goes against, I change direction. (given that my stop loss has not been hit yet).

He did mention that he would place the initial stop for the first entry either below or above the swing high - then all subsequent entries either place a breakeven stop loss when it has moved as little as 10 pips, or, let it run without stop losses. (initial stop remains) His take was that with a breakeven he keeps the losses minimum, but without a sl he maximizes the trend. Recommendation was to place a breakeven sl if you are new to the game.

If using the close all profits rules in the EA, when does the EA enter positions again? I see the EA closed a bunch of positions Friday, but has not reentered anything since then?

Anybody what are the rules for opening new trades once they have all been closed? Does price need to cross the MA again? Or will the EA enter add on positions?
