MARKET FLOW TRADING GUIDELINES (Ver. 1.0_Aug 2015)

TRADABLE ENVIRONMENT

1. Price must have made a DAILY CLOSE beyond a confirmed DAILY FRACTAL (DF). This is called a DAILY FRACTAL BREAK. (DFB)
2. On the H1 draw a 50% Fib from where the move started that broke the DF
3. Wait for price to return to the DFB AREA and/or FIB ENTRY AREA location
4. Price should also be near or interacting with ≥ H1 Supply / Demand Zone
5. Check to see if 1:3 R:R is possible from STOP:ENTRY location.
6. Note where the DAILY S/D Zones are located.

RISK
· 0.5% of TOTAL ACCOUNT per trade (review monthly)

ENTRY
· PA with PVA confirmation

STOP
· Beyond nearest confirmed H1 Supply / Demand Zone

TARGET
· Always target 1:3 and actively manage the trade by looking inside the PA on multiple TFs as time permits.
· Need to work on consistency first before aiming for greater profits.

NEWS
· Be aware of any Major News items that are due out within the next 60 mins of intended ENTRY TIME

I've just read through, "Zen in the Markets" a few times over the weekend as it seemed it was a popular book that I've heard many traders recommend.

Just going to note down a few of the things that have got my mind thinking in regards my trading.

BASIC RULES of TRADING

1. BUY LOW, SELL HIGH
2. LET PROFITS RUN, CUT LOSSES QUICKLY
3. ADD TO A WINNING POSITION, NOT A LOSER
4. GO WITH THE TREND

I'd like to simplify my strategy more as I've already added things to it where I feel I should be taking things away.

So, I'll re-evaluate my trading guidelines (work in progress) in terms of the above 4 mentioned basic rules and see what I can come up with.

What's in play for Tuesday, August 18th?

Took this long very far away from DFB area in the hope that price would be making new highs.

Entry trigger was that big bullish outside bar at new support. Position never even made it into
any profit and was easily taken out about a day later. (Held over the weekend)

Getting quite a string of losses at the moment, however since start of August I reduced my risk to 0.5% per trade so drawdown
hasn't been so bad, but not the nicest feeling.

Took this one at a H4 Demand zone just above the DFB area. I set a BUY LIMIT order at the edge of the zone and my Stop was under the DFB area.

Didn't take long to stop me out of this one either.

Not really flowing with the market at the moment.

I can see irrespective of several continuous loss you have stuck with you system & plan. And thats the sign of becoming professional trader. Keep it up & eventually you will turn your losses to gains soon, my best wishes.

Yes, yes. I'm over the switching process. I'm still keen to learn as much as I can, but I've already seen how I've been able to be successful with this method and this current stage is just a productive learning curve for me so that I can take better trades in the future.

MARKET FLOW TRADING GUIDELINES (Ver. 2.0_Aug 2015)

BASIC RULE #1 GO WITH THE TREND / MARKET FLOW

The aim of my trading method is to always be trading on the RIGHT SIDE of the market at the RIGHT-HAND side of the chart.

Being on the RIGHT SIDE of the market means to be trading WITH the MARKET FLOW.

MARKET FLOW is defined by the way the Daily Fractals (DF) are showing on the DAILY chart.

If the DFs of a pair are making combinations of HHs and HLs then I can easily say the MARKET FLOW is in favour of the BUYERS and I'm only looking to be BUYING in this market.

If the DFs of a pair are making combinations of LLs and LHs then I can easily say the MARKET FLOW is in favour of the SELLERS and I'm only looking to be SELLING in this market.

RISK

1. POSITION SIZE based on STOP SIZE and % of TOTAL ACCOUNT
2. RISK 0.5% of TOTAL ACCOUNT per trade entry (review monthly)

ENTRY

BASIC RULE # 2 BUY SUPPORT-DEMAND / SELL RESISTANCE-SUPPLY

(OPEN 2 POSITIONS for each ENTRY IDEA as per RISK)

BUYS:

1. MARKET FLOW must be favouring BUYERS
2. PRICE has made a DAILY CLOSE ABOVE a DAILY FRACTAL (DAILY FRACTAL BREAK (DFB))
3. Drop to H4 chart and mark up any of the following (ROUND NUMBERS / DEMAND AREAS / SUPPORT LINES (HORIZONTAL and SLOPING)
4. WATCH PRICE interact with these areas and look for any familiar price patterns that show BUYING Strength.

SELLS:

1. MARKET FLOW must be favouring SELLERS
2. PRICE has made a DAILY CLOSE BELOW a DAILY FRACTAL (DAILY FRACTAL BREAK (DFB))
3. Drop to H4 chart and mark up any of the following (ROUND NUMBERS / SUPPLY AREAS / RESISTANCE LINES (HORIZONTAL and SLOPING)
4. WATCH PRICE interact with these areas and look for any familiar price patterns that show SELLING Strength.

STOP & TARGETS

BASIC RULE #3 YES, LET PROFITS RUN, YES, CUT LOSSES QUICKLY, BUT DO GET PAID!

CUT LOSSES QUICKLY

- Place STOP in a logical position beyond the area where you are making your ENTRY.
- Calculate your POSITION SIZE based on percentage of TOTAL ACCOUNT and risk only 0.5% on each individual trade.
- Let the trade hit your STOP LOSS if it goes against you.

LET PROFITS RUN

- TRAIL STOP on all positions 3 pips BEYOND MOST RECENTLY CLOSED DAILY BARs EXTREME PRICE
- Let the MARKET DECIDE how much PROFIT it will give you on your 2nd Position.

GET PAID

- Set TARGET for 1st Position at 3 pips BEFORE Entry Days ADR

WED 19/8: New DFB from HL. 1.57 RN is really being tested here and we can see Higher Lows on each push back. (2 Positions Open)
THU 20/8: INSIDE DAY for WED but positions both slightly in profit.
FRI 21/8: 2nd Consecutive INSIDE BAR. Hopefully THU's bar shows buying strength after lower prices were tested.

EUR JPY

WED 19/8: (2 Positions Open) Entry on return to DFB area / RN 137.00 / RETEST of BROKEN SLOPING RESISTANCE.
THU 20/8: Closed 1st position at ADR.

EUR CHF

THU 20/8: Entry on Return to DFB area and above RN 1.07 with H4 RR at H4 Demand.
FRI 21/8: CLOSED AT ADR. EUR & CHF Strengthing across the board so could see sideways movement here??

THU 20/8: DFB of Lower High into Daily Supply - CAUTION
FRI 21/8: DAILY SUPPLY still containing price

THU 20/8: DFB of Lower High from potential HL - Possible Market Flow Change
FRI 21/8: No ENTRY yet. Looking at 128.00 RN with DFB area and Sloping Support Line

FRI 21/8: DFB of HH from HL = MARKET FLOW. Still in Daily Supply. 2 previous days very strong so will watch 1.12 RN and see if it holds.


EUR AUD

FRI 21/8: DFB of HH from HL = MARKET FLOW. See if I can get an ENTRY on RETEST of 1.53?

EUR CAD

FRI 21/8: DFB of HH from HL = MARKET FLOW. Now at DAILY SUPPLY. Watch 1.46 for possible Support

THU 20/8: DFB of HL from LH = (Possible change in Market Flow) No Entry on this one yet.
FRI 21/8: Price did make a quick test of DFB area and moved lower but no real Entry opportunity. Now at DAILY DEMAND.

USD JPY

FRI 21/8: DFB of HL from HH = No Market Flow just yet but will follow. Now in DAILY DEMAND. Watch 124.00 RN.

AUD CHF

FRI 21/8: DFB of HL from LH = Possible Change in MARKET FLOW. Now in DAILY DEMAND

Finally got one of these EURO cross trades right!

Entry was on H4 RR pattern at DFB area and 1.07 RN. Target was for the ADR as we can see both the EUR and the CHF are showing strength.

1st EUR JPY position closed at ADR. Entry was on a small DOJI above H4 Demand at DFB area.
Felt a little queasy on very next bar as it dove deeper down but Demand held and eventually carved out a nice double bottom.
2nd position still running with Stop brought up to behind Thursday's lows.

I'll be honest. This one is burning me up a little. I held this trade over the weekend and on Monday just before start of London session I see a H1 candle
close below my rising trendline, so I close the trade thinking it will continue to keep moving down.

Then after when I switch back to the H4 timeframe it is seen as bouncing off of the trendline and never going anywhere near the place I closed it.

Can anybody explain to me why price shows on the H4 timeframe but not on the H1 timeframe????

Price moves 430 pips over a few days and I can't even get a few pips while I take a Sell with the move
and easily get stopped out.

USD CHF

Easily got stopped out of this one, too. Looks like it was too early in the London session
to be selling the USD CHF when I sold it. Price did eventually turn around, but I was asleep.
