Here is my 2nd attempt at a trade journal on FF.
My first didn't last very long as life took over so we'll see how this goes.

I've called this one, "Trading with the Market Flow" as I think that best sums up how I feel I need to make my trading decisions and reflects
a lot of things that I've learned from another thread here on FF.

I must say that I'm only a humble hobby trader who has been at this Forex game for a few years and for the most part
have just lost money week after week and month after month.

However, I think I'm slowly starting to see the dark clouds part and a small ray of sunlight may be starting to shine on my trading.

I will try and journal all of my trades here and describe to myself as best as I can what my trading method really is.

Gap down Monday provided the Daily Fractal Break (DFB)
Tuesday slowly retraced back to a S/R flip level that had formed on Monday.

2 nice Sell Pin Bars on Wednesday both with High Volatility and Strong Selling Impulse.
Was only around for the 2nd one.

Closed the trade before coming into Tuesday's support area and just before the NY close on Wednesday.

Much the same as the above NZD JPY trade.

Felt fairly confident taking both trades as they were showing the same price action at the same time.

Strong DFB in early London trading on Tuesday.

Entry was quite sloppy but area was good as this was first return back to DFB area.
Indecision candle before Entry showed high volatility with very low Impulse. This came only 2 bars after
that strong selling bar at 11:00.

Late NY session also provided the impetus for a smooth run up for Thursday but missed that one.

There was a very strong DFB back on Tuesday June 30th. and price kept pushing up from there.

Entered this one after seeing a return to close MOnday's gap up in the early London session.
Very nice railway track pattern with the 2nd candle showing strong volatility and strong impulse.

Exited at last Thursday's highs.

This was just one of those trades where I was so desparate to get into the move back up to the top. I had missed out on all the previous moves
and was not patient.

Impulse and volatility were weak on this.

This trade was taken very late in Tuesday NY session but the signal was very solid in a very logical area.
Pin Bar showed strong volatility and impulse.

Exit was at Tuesday's highs which turned out to be a nice place to get out.

DFB on Wednesday was perhaps not the strongest and it was easy for sellers to push back inside the previous day's high.

My entry was a large spread bullish candle which had me taking a large stop and entering where all that selling had occurred yesterday.

My stop was missed by a few pips and was very lucky to escape with a small profit.

Not the prettiest of trades.

Believe me those words mean a lot to me.

I'm only making very small gains at the moment, but like my turtle, they are slow and steady and that suits me.

Over time I hope to make a lot more notes here, that explain what I'm trying to do.

I knew it will mean a lot, because being appreciated means a lot to everyone. And little appreciations can do wonders in changing results, which many dont realize. At the moment you do surely deserve to be patted on the back. Keep it small & steady & you will rock it.

Talk about missing the bus on this one!

Waited patiently for price to retest a previous S/R flip after previous Friday's DFB.
Signal was a bullish harami with confirming volatility and impulse showing buying strength.

I got pushed around on this trade without it taking off and so moved my stop to Break even not wanting price to break back inside the support.

What do you know a few candles after I close price steams off in my desired direction.

Didn't have the sense to re-enter a new position. Still so much to learn.

Thanks Kraven. Really appreciate those nice comments. What you've said is exactly what I'm attempting to do.

I use 2 fractal indicators.

I use the "in-built" MT4 Fractal on the Daily Charts.

Then I use an "Asymmetric Fractal" on my hourly chart. I think it's fine to use normal fractal on H1 as well. It's just that I read somewhere a few months back
that changing the settings on the fractal indicator just helped to cut out a bit of the noise on the lower timeframe.

I like it as it really helps me quickly gauge where perhaps the more important pivot points are on the H1 chart.

I have attached the indicator to this post. My settings are: Frames Before = 5 / Frames After =9

There was a solid DFB on Wednesday and was happy to take this one the following day on the first time back to the area.

It was a risky signal being a small bullish harami and I had to weather some drawdown on this one, but I held on as there didn't seem to be
any large bearish impulse in this area.

Closed near the origin of that strong bearish candle earlier in the day.

DFB happened on Friday the 3rd and I took this trade 10 calendar days after so I'll just note down that there maybe a time component to this.

The signal looked solid and volatility and impulse were confirming as well. However, what I will say is that taking a trade off of the 6:00 (GMT +3) candle on Monday trading may not be the most powerful signal of the week. I will follow this and try and see if I need to avoid these trades this early in the week even if they are on AUD or JPY during the Asian session.

Closed out for a small loss after seeing no follow through from 2nd push down.

Nice to hear someone else is at least looking at the Impulse Indi. I'm still working it out, so would be nice to possibly share some notes from time to time about what you
see with it.

Very strong DFB on previous Wednesday and this was the 1st time price had made it all the way back that zone.

This was a more riskier trade given the upsloping trendline at the bottom with price making higher lows but after seeing
no follow through on the 12:00 bullish candle I decided to just try and get a few pips back to a previous resistance area.

Glad I exited where I did as price continued up, up and away after that.
