{quote} This PC has 64GB RAM but the motherboard is stuffed. Only 2 RAM slots are working hence the 16GB. I had a new PC, again with 64GB but that was unstable and has been returned to the maufacturer. Its all a bit frustrating !! Thanks for the comparisson though. I did discover that 2 instances of MT4 was the limit for this machine with a max of 5 Renko charts on each....Even then if price action got a little brisk the whole lot would lock up.... Back to normal charts for now I guess....

Your computer is probably not configured properly. I can run 12 Renko charts (100 points, major Forex currency pairs) plus 12 M1 charts on one instance of MT4 platform without any problem. And the computer has 8GB RAM with i5 CPU.

I think its probably because the motherboard in this PC is partially fried -- the reason I bought a new one in the first place. The new one was unstable and would crash just at the wrong moments so after a couple months of remote investigations/diagnosis which revealed nothing, it had to be returned.

Loaded this up for DAX30 and US30, but it shows the wrong date?
When freshly opened, it shows november, then goes straight back to current date.

Any suggestions?

What is the chart you have attached? It is not a non-gap Renko chart.

This is what it looks like when it’s stabilized. Works going forward but would be nice to see its history correctly

Are you sure the M1 data it is based on is complete/continuous?

Thank you MathTrader for all the work you share ...and everyone else for their benevolent and valuable contributions!

First of all I would like to thank MathTrader7 for all the effort in this great thread, I searched the thread to find an instruction regarding how to use the HST file which is produced by MT7_CSV2RenkoHST_SC.ex4 script but couldn't find any information . Can you guys instruct me where to put the HST file and how to make strategytester to read that offline file instead of using broker's data ?

I found the answer by more research, while I was thinking .csv files are the only file format which we can import from MT4's history center, we are also able to import .hst files. So the answer is that we don't need to find a path to copy the HST file in mt4 directory, all we need to do is to import the generated hst file to history center ( after deleting other data from 1M )

Hi MathTrader,
I need a bit of help. I assumed that the list of Renko installation instructions in your post#1 was to be followed in sequence i.e. from steps 1-6 -see below:-

I progressed to to step 5 - so far ok, but then I saw that in step 6 I had to again attach the Renko EA to the chart. I thought this was strange, but decided to follow the Master's steps. However, as soon as I attached the Renko to the M1 chart - for the second time - my MT4 hung up and could not be closed.
Could this be due to there being two Renkos on the MT4 or the fact that the history data I down loaded has caused a memory jam !?

Kind regards,

Mike

There is a big difference between "a Renko trading EA" and "a Renko creator EA". Read the instructions again and note the point I mentioned in the previous sentence. You will figure it out. If not, I am here to help you

Hi @MathTrader7,
I would like to say thank for all your kind support to Community about Renko Creator.
Last week, I backtest the data build from TickStory, US30 Sep1,2020 to Nov30. 2020, using MT7_CSV2RenkoHST_SC.ex4.
It create a big ROI for my EA, but when I carefully test with visual chart. I find some candle which build in errors.
The candle looklike right in forrming, but the EA executive at a wrong price as Image Below.
I dont know what happen, when I test with other Renko Creator 3.2 Ver, that error is disappear. But renko 3.2 is not good because It's Repain.

I also attached the .HST file which is errors below for you to easy investigate!
Can you take a little time to find out the cause in this case?

Thank you so much!

LeoGold,

Hi LeoGold,

You are using the Renko creator script on US305 which has a large spread. You should note that the Renko creator script only uses Bid values, so what you see on the chart represents fluctuation of Bid values, on the other hand you close some positions on Ask values for which you see those closing points that you have drawn blue circles around. There is nothing wrong in this regard.
However, some empty space between two consecutive Renko candles comes from the limitations in MT4 platform that has the minimum chart time resolution of 1 second. So, if there are two or more Renko candles within the same second, the MT4 platform cannot draw them correctly and that empty space is the result of this limiration. There is nothing to do in this regard as I cannot overcome the essential limitations of MT4 platform while keeping the correct time labels of the Renko candles. Nevertheless, this problem is more frequent when the user sets a very small size for the Renko bars (like what you have set). With larger size of Renko candles, this problem is less pronounced.

/Matt

I have a trend indicator and I'm asking if you could have some some to look at it and integrate into the Math Trader Renko EA.
