Hi.

Well done, Madmoney! You just outpaced me with this thread.
CI similarity - is almost only useful thing I got from Eurusdd thread before the drama.
And I found its profitable long time ago.
I got some useful rules and observations for trading it and I'll tell about them later on.

Let me show you my recent trade and you'll see some difference.

But your first trade is actually against the current main trend, which sometimes misses the target level.

Exactly! This is one of the differences according to my rules.
Trends tends to change. And we don't know when and where.
I agree that it is safer to trade along with global trend.
But it's counter trend system and it is allows us to trade with very good RR ratio.
Considering many good signals that it gives counter trend, it's possible to trade like this.

Of course I will, to the extent possible.

Here is my rules for CI similarity (5 min TF):

1. There must be 5 to 10 bars (the more - the better) between two dissimilar CI spikes.
2. There must be 5 to 10 bars after 2nd CI spike.
3. If RR ratio at 5-8 bar after 2nd CI spike is greater or equal to 1:1-2:1 (again, the more - the much better), then we can use that signal for trade.
4. Prefer to use some confirmation signal at lower timeframe. (Not necessary, but useful).

I'll gonna make some screenshots to explain rules for better understanding.

Hey MM another quick question just to be clear.

Are the yellow boxed Similarity spikes not valid Trend changes since the smaller CI(more frequent one) was not a major spike? would we ignore them and continue trading in trend of last Sim Spike with Smaller CI Major Spike(Red Box)?

All of the yellow and red boxes are valid trend changes. Remember if the big CI is major it's disqualified and I'll tell you why......

If you monitor the CI it repaints heavily in trending conditions and can get you into bad trades, strong relentless moves are usually signalled by a major spike, by us only taking minor spike on the big CI signals means it's is more likely to be a turning point rather than an ongoing trend.

Nope. I do not take even every trend opportunities.
Yes. I use a filter - 3 rules that I mentioned above.

Almost forgot - I always exit countertrend trade when opposite signal appears. So, it is often cannot reach TP, but still profitable.

Closed manually at BE (after -13 pips DD), because of opposite signal at H4.
It seems necessary to revise my counter trend rules, or exclude that signals at all, as MM recommends.
Gonna test them further.

HI madmoney, very promising systems. i take a trade on my live account using your systems currently 80 pips profit and it is running now.
using this indicator we can catch a trade from the very beginning, only need patience and some basic idea of chart reading.
