Hi, very interesting thread. Thank you for that MM. But for better understanding of this indicator......could anybody explain in simple words how and when a signal appears. What' s the calculation behind. I'm no coder so it is not possible for me to read it out of the source code. But I think it would help a lot to to know this, so we could built more rules around it.

Very good of you to start a thread to focus on Similarity-Dissimilarity as this is the
one concept that Eurusdd shared that seems to have the most merit, at least for me.
At this time I am using the Similarity-Dissimilarity of the stochastic indicator, but am trying
to determine the best settings to use for the EUR/USD pair.
I will test out your indicator & see what works the best for me. Getting the settings
correct is the key.

our rules may need modifying according to the pair being traded. I will give them a try
as you have them written, but look forward to you refinements. I would be most
interested in what settings you use if you wouldn't mind sharing, if not I understand.

NP, mate. For CAD my settings same as MM's - 1,6,4 and 1,12,4. Settings for other pair still testing, but it's obvious that they can differs.

That's why it is not possible for history testing (except visual tester).
Can cause a problem.

Trade stopped out and spike repainted again.
That's why I looking for good RR trades.
But, may be better to look for better entries.

I think.. the spike repainting is a major issue.. as you can just be out of trades and be stopped!
thank you madmoney for the new thread! i found it always interesting (i'm a stranded one from usd/eur thread too :-)) but leave old stories behind. your charts were always clear und understandable. also big thanks to myxo! thanks for the clear charts and explainations. when i stick to your 3 rules, i see oportunities over and over again...and it works! what do you think of using 1min chart to get more entries? i'm playing around with 1min using cycle settings middle value 4 and 8.cheers mex

Eurusdd explains about using PriceActionFilter setting to confirm that a spike will not repaint (something about using EMA cross).

If you use 1-6-4 / 1-12-4 settings, you can insert 2 emas (EMA 6 & EMA 12).
Then wait for price to close above/below respective ema to confirm the spike. Or wait the ema to cross each other. not sure the better behaviour.

Let me know if you find a good way to use this info (because I'm still a bit confused )

Np)

I don't think 1 min chart can provide more entries, because of spread, which too wide for small 1 min moves. But any way, you can try.

I got some clue what's hiding behind the CI code. I gonna try to add to CI minor cycles history dots.

Small white/yellow dots are minor cycles history. Big blue/red dots - major cycle history.
Now it's clear where CI was repainted.
