{quote} Nice trade! I made 1.5 pips... Being a teacher sux for trading... Place a trade, go teach and come back to see it hit my SL! Part time work coming up! But yea, i will note that for CT trades, one has to be 'tight' with exiting.

Yeah it's hard to trade and do something else at the same time......I tried it for a couple of years but it was difficult.

For me, with CT trades there are 2 options....sit it out and wait for a trend trade. After all, it's best not to try and swim upstream!! However, if the setup ticks every box, take the trade.....keep the SL reasonably tight (today was at BE on +20) and be ready to exit with a small profit if the target seems to be unattainable.

I'm back in the EJ short at 130.16.....things look a little better to me as we break that area of support I circled in my last chart.....

Feeling not sync with the market.... I really wish I could be picky the way RJ does
Got SL on AU and EJ. Both were aligned with trend (I thought so).
On AU, when it still floating nowhere, there were a signal for opposite position, but I didn't close my position. Rrr.... perhaps I should next time
On EJ I think I missunderstood the stoch on M15.

  1. First yellow vertical line, stoch M15 didn't reach 20, I thought it told me that the uptrend was strong. So I looked for long position. After hit my SL, I realized it was a reentry for short position regarding to previous stoch M15 (above 80). RJ, I think I should play your movie continuously on my TV to remind me about that...
  2. Second yellow vertical line I switched to short position, well so far it seems going nowhere... (yet)

I took a quick short from 130.259 down to 130.09, exited when it started to hit that resistance again ... I think, ultimately, it may well continue through that, but the quick 16 pips was enough for me to exit and be satisfied that I'd achieved my 20 pips for the day.

The other 4 pips was, sadly, from the big EJ jump off of DP earlier in the afternoon. It doesn't look like it on the charts now, but at the time of entry it was a VERY CT trade. It carried on up for about 4 pips, stalled for a bit, and that was where I got cold feet.

So first chart shows what it looked like when I entered ... very steep slope down since Tokyo open ... in justification of the entry was strong m5 and m15 stochs, and sharp bounce off DP, but very CT at the time.

2nd chart shows what happened afterwards. Because it was so CT, that little stall was enough for me to exit. Reasons being I was already uncomfortable with being against such a strong recent trend, so the little stall combined with another non-Genesis factor meant I exited. It really was a gut shot exit with no valid reason - I let FEAR get the better of me that it was going to turn around back to trend super fast.

However, as illustrated on the second chart, and as RJ has pointed out recently, had I just observed the M15 stoch, which gave no sign of changing it's course, I would have done better. Of course, the French prelim GDP figures could not have been predicted, but were the reason for the second phase of the move up.

So there we go - my mistakes, so that you don't have to make the same ones!

Your AU short was a bit unfortunate. The trend is clearly down and your entry was good. Unfortunately the PA decided to test the Daily Pivot and it knocked your SL over. It's testing the DP yet again right now. Nothing really wrong with your entry, it's just one of those 'shit happens' type trades!

EJ is still hanging in there, right on top of the BRN, but the PA isn't backing off it (yet!). Time will tell....

Good analysis

Thnx for the comment of my trades, RJ.

I feel I picked the wrong pair to trade today. Usually I allow myself to have any of these 3 pairs: AU, EA and EJ trades. But this morning I decided to pick only one between AU&EA since these last few days they always moved regarding to AU direction.
But this morning they moved separately, while EA going up and down (well, actually in a single area of between 2 pivot lines), AU just slept. So I missed the good entry you took on EA because earlier when I placed my position the RR for AU is better than the EA.

go EJ, go EJ, go down..

{quote} Going to read it this weekend. Someone mentioned the book too (forgot the person) this weekend. Need down time to digest it all. So for your EJ (also same trade as you, got in @130.48) what is your ideal TP? I read a post earlier from you, this month i believe, that TP would usually be at pivot points or round numbers, would the Rule #3 as in the Genesis manual, be good for TP as well?

Hi

Stop trading and read the PDF
Waiting for the weekend isnt going to help your trading, it will only bring you more frustration

Hi again

Working at anything while youre trying to become a trader is very difficult
Running from the classroom to to the market and vice versa is not the way to succeed, you will rush trades and lose.
Im in your situation, and since I read the EFT PDF (properly) , everything has changed for the better
I cant stress it enough
Your hurting yourself not helping yourself

I would to comment your AU trade too, hopefully thats ok for you

What i see on that pair, when i look on higher timeframes and make the picture bigger, this pair work lot with the weekly s/r/p

And your entry was ok, but see on my screen, right now, not able to break the weekly P
Just my thoughts to look some times at weekly s/r/p to safe trades with be.

Experiences talked
Even with the similar position, you still got 12 pips, while I got a loss
I checked the chart and saw that price stalled on BRN, you talked about before...

Salute..

When I saw that poor USA news I new the Yen would do it's over reaction as it always does on USA news, but soon the Euro would swamp the Yen so I took the spike down and got out. ..... +12 was ok....they all add up
