Its hard to be sure from the picture but when you entered the trade it looked a little close to that area of support that had held since the 20th. Price action did look like it was consolidating. I think recognising ranging/consolidating markets is key to success with this method. The compassfx videos really helped me a few weeks back to read these APBs. I think the APB video was posted on this thread earlier.

Well, the system seems great so far. But I let some trades to continue after London opening, BAD idea. I was on +$10 and now I'm -$40 haha. I'm demoing with 0.02 lots on a initial balance of $400 . Looks like closing trades before London it's a must. At least I'll try to hedge haha.

So, the trade should be placed at the open of the candle when the TDI cross is evident, right? not at the close if the TDI already crossed 4 hours earlier?

Post the charts maybe someone could help figure out what went wrong. A trade should be placed as soon as possible to the open of the new candle (when TDI cross has occurred and you have confirmed the market isn't in consolidation also watch out for entering trades in the direction of close support and resistance areas).

I prefer to trade the 4hr charts at night. My broker posts new 4 hr candles at 10pm my time (Pacific), 2am my time and 6am my time.

[font=Comic Sans MS][size=3][color=#0000ff]My page when I open up my charts has 8 open charts. I just glance at the TDI for set ups when the new candle opens... If I see a set up... green just crossing red I'll take the trade, turn off the puter and go to bed. Four hours later (1:50am) my alarm goes off for the new candles...

Hi Eelfranz.

I blindly manually backtested these trades, i've done ALL trades on EURUSD from 5jan2011 'till now, but my final result was not positive.
To be true i started the trades at 11/12 p.m. pacific time (equivalent of 7/8 a.m. GMT+1), but i don't think this is the main problem.

A friend of mine just mailed me, he did the same test (i asked him of course), and the result was similar to mine.

..What we are missing?
You use some kind of discretion in your trades, or don't trade if the price has gone too far before the 10p.m., or something else?

I don't mean to disturb with my post, if there is any problem with it PM me, i will cancel it.

Bye!

Hi Mfinab.

I was looking over your charts and noticed my charts don't quite look the same.
The green line hasn't crossed the red yet.

Can anyone explain? Am i missing something?

Cheers

Has anyone tried to trade on 4H and use 30min timeframe as a triger. Or use 1H and 5min. That would give us earlier/better entry but at the same time we probably would have more false signals.

Here is a trade I took as per the rules on GU. This morning in the US session.

Took one last night per the rules, ended up being a 34 pip loser.
(Exited as per the rules when the TD went flat.....looked like fakeout before the move now)

This is live with 1 cent per pip. I use a stock 100 pip sl right now.

As of now up 14 pips.

I will be very interested to hear the response to this. Stemag, perhaps you can identify some specific loss trades to Eelfranz so that so he can determine what went wrong with them and whether they are valid trades.
