Hey all. So I love the usd/cad. Just had a bit of an issue though. Maybe you could give me some input. I bought the bullish move before the report and put my stop at break even. Then I put a sell stop at the same level in case it dropped. So of course at 10a. the usd/cad chart froze for about 20 secs. Needless to say when it updated I was screwed. Im with Forex.com having been sold to them by FXCM a while back. So Id heard some rough things about them but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Just curious if you all experienced the same...

My chart also froze for few seconds, but different broker. I think the move was so huge and unexpected that it caused some interruptions or so on most platforms.

Ah thanks for the feedback. I figured this might be an issue with many brokers. Just curious if theres anyone whose platform didnt freeze and if so what broker are they using?

Yes as a US resident it appears OANDA is the only other option in the country. I know there are some offshore brokers but I understand that comes with its own set of issues. Anyone using OANDA have the freeze as well?

I'm using AMP Futures and Forex.com (aka Gain capitol) ...... no freezing for me......My mistake was I traded the wrong direction for the futures trade..... this move is gonna last. I do expect to hold a long term live position sometime next week......probably after a Wednesday oil report

Basically waiting for an entry below that zone.....

So, like an idiot I had forgotten about this announcement and had gone long USD/CAD about an hour beforehand. I had a 15 pip stoploss that completely got blown through. When I finally did get closed out, my stoploss had slipped more than 200 pips south, which wiped out 50% of my account.

****ing brutal.

you should complain to your broker since their system is not reliable and safe

I did send them an email complaining about my stop loss not getting filled, but I highly doubt it will matter. Slippage is common during events like these. I just happened to be on the wrong end of an extreme case of it.

i was slipped a pending buy... its entry was triggered 25 pips lower than what i wanted... and the stop another 25... which actually doesn't make sense... if they can fill me 25 pips lower... then they can close me at the same price no?

It is always a high risk when you want to catch a profit on an express train.... sometimes your hand managed to grab the train but your body left in the station,
during big news slippage is normal and unfortunately you cannot questioning the broker why it is happening .

Bearish momentum is maintained and bearish continuation pattern. I would really like the daily wick filled.

Hi everyone! I was able to make a nice profit off of the rate announcement.

I'm thinking of pulling out and wait to see what happens with the Crude Oil report today. What are y'all thinking?

Maybe a retest of yesterday's low
