DislikedNot to put to fine a point on it.... but we have already called China's bluff. They cannot stop buying US debt. They are financing their own econmic boom by doing so. Maybe the US is in a long term death spiral, but if we are China is in it with us.Ignored

QuoteDislikedOk, currency traders think fed will raise sooner, therefore stronger USD. I get that. But what is up with stocks? They continue to be strong, when clearly an intrest rate hike would hurt them. Any suggestions?
May be the correlation is getting weaker. If interest rate rises, then that means US economy is on solid recovery along with consumer spending increases.
So stocks are rising because of stronger US recovery, companies will post more sales and profits.

DislikedMaybe. But if we are in the death spiral, it started a long time ago. Not sure where the beginning was. USA letting China peg the YUAN to the USD and not having the balls to do anything about it would be a good point to investigate.Ignored

DislikedTouche. No argument there. Still, wouldnt that benefit a rate hike even more? So that all parties involved in buying short to mid term bonds at dirt cheap prices can actually benefit?Ignored
DislikedSomeday, yes...but not today. After 3 or 4 months of job growth, not less than expected declines! At some point US economy will recover and we will start buy stuff again. Until that time, weak USD is what the USA needs.Ignored
