DislikedYou are very clearly not understanding it. Tick volume does not show you the real volume behind the price change, only the change itself. It is irrelevant knowing that price changes (you can see that on any chart and don't need a VSA for that) without knowing the size of trades behind it.
Counting the amount of price changes in a bar is no indication of the underlying volume that caused that price change. VSA is just a tick based range bar. I am happy if you want to discuss range bar trading, but you keep going on about volume. eSignal themselves...Ignored
tick is a proxy variable and about the best fit for spot fx, maybe different terminology would clear all this up. your main objection appears to be the usage of the term "volume"...
VSA was primarily developed for stocks, hence the use of the term "volume" (but happens to work in spot fx since we are concerned with activity and not actual traded volume, tick volume and actual volume in futures, stocks, etc. where the data is exchange reported both work well in this regard)...
