LOL. I like to add this. News Feed Analysis, Volume Spread Analysis, Tick Volume Analysis, Order Flow Analysis, Moon Cycles Analysis, Crystal Ball Analysis- They all work, provided they are studied by a skilled ANALYST and traded by a skilled TRADER. LOL

Malcolmb,

I just looked at Euro. Does the 15min pin bar down there along with volume suggest anything? I know a move occurred already, but now that FXCM supplies tick data I'm interested lol

My take is that pin was formed on average tick vol., and the next 15m bar was up on slightly higher tick vol., so that suggested a move up? This area represented an old gap (see MT4 chart) so I took the long. I'm sure VSA would have helped get in there too? Let me know your thoughts

Well, there is only one PROPER TL which needs to be seen by a majority to work out.

Thats only a part of a confluence not an entry trigger by itself

Did anybody else notice this, This was a key turn around, We may be looking for .98 now and then a slight pull back, I think the euro will hit around 3335-90 before a quick bounce to 3550, then back down to 1.320 or below when the dollar swiss will make its first correction before heading higher after the daily double bottom. We should ultimately see dollar strength into mid march early April, check back on my posts. My estimates were slighty off in the euro as i said it would slide from 1.3850 range to 1.3450 before a bounce back to within 100 points of the top either below or above. it only got to 1.3508, close but still slightly off. The bounce did clear 1.3750, thought it might go higher to 1.3950-4050, but since we didn't hit those we have a confirmed TREND towards the downside, with a confirmation from the Double bottom forming in the USD/YEN and USD/SWISSY pairs. Observe the charts, observe the fundamentals, I think we will all see ultimately a more long term trend down. If problems are exposed in europe as a consequence of egypt, we may see an even stronger move than I am seeing develop.

vsa is NOT an indicator ..

futures IS REAL VOLUME
spot is TICK VOLUME. If you have 1 million tick going off in a candle that is only 20 pip wide on a 60 min and the average tick per 60 min bar is 200,000 and then the next one is down does this mean sellers have just hit the market or not .

You are very clearly not understanding it. Tick volume does not show you the real volume behind the price change, only the change itself. It is irrelevant knowing that price changes (you can see that on any chart and don't need a VSA for that) without knowing the size of trades behind it.

Counting the amount of price changes in a bar is no indication of the underlying volume that caused that price change. VSA is just a tick based range bar. I am happy if you want to discuss range bar trading, but you keep going on about volume. eSignal themselves are very clear that it is not volume, just a different pictorial of range bars. Nothing special about this, range bars have been used for decades.

Using the term volume is not only wrong but also misleading as it has nothing to do with volume.
