Not really I don't think there are too many drawbacks to when you trade. Probably not when NY session over and before Tokyo takes over 3 hours later is the deadzone.

I trade usually the first hour into London and am done depending on the day before it gets into NY.

You asked this before on post https://www.forexfactory.com/showthr...49745&page=163
You come across as desperate to find the holy grail, apologies if I get it wrong but it is how your posts read, Read the replies then try your own trades, look at their charts and compare yours. Demo for a few months to see how you get on. Then come back and ask questions based on your demo trades. It will take you some time ( that 10000 hours quote) before you get a grip on what you are doing - but practice is key. There is other basic forex material over at Babypips to bring your basic knowledge up to speed. Good luck.
Just remember -you will have losers and losing runs. It's how you manage them.

Forex Trading is easy for the traders who gain the proper knowledge and experience and skills that are needed to become successful in it and it is hard for those who just barge into market, without proper knowledge.

Oh, unlucky on the tp. I am fortunate to be using a broker with tiny spreads and hit that +5. I closed the whole lot out at that point as I was scalping EJ elsewhere as well and at that point they were all sells and this was a counter-move to them.

I don't like using separate methods on the same pair at the same time as it can get awkward and I was giving preference to the scalping, as I had been doing that all day.

In this particular case, I was scalping EJ using one method (which I don't post on FF) and then running a 1-2-3 at the same time. Normally doesn't really make any sense. The reason it was ok here was that the 1-2-3 move came when the scalping move was in a pullback, so I wasn't trading it.

As for the NJ trade, nice catch.

If it's ok with TS, I'll post the set-up from the Dead Zone method to illustrate a point here. You can see that price has now returned all the way to the zone covering the H1 range of the candle prior to today's US Open (shown by the grey box). Sometimes, different methods can be very helpful indeed ...

For The Weird Bunch, I stuck to those I'd been running earlier, so that meant The US30 and UK100. Certainly paid off and easy enough to set off and leave to it.

Hi TooSlow - thanks for posting your method here and the effort you've gone to in patiently replying to questions. I've read as many pages of replies as I can so excuse me if my questions have already been asked...

If the previous (or recent) candle made both a new daily low and daily high, would you:
a) wait for a retest of the low
- OR -
b) wait for a retest of the high
- OR -
c) wait for a retest of the high if it was made last, and vice-versa for the low

Also, would you be more inclined to favour retesting of lows (i.e. buying) if the overall daily/weekly trend is up? (and vice-versa for the highs)

Gotcha so basically the other method is something totally different.
Is the "dead zone" what you're referring to when you mention scalping?

do you use MT4 as the platform to trade? I find it super non flexible unless you have special EA or whatever.
I also need to find me a proper broker. jFD doesn't seem all that good.

Thanks Too Slow!
if you don't mind me asking with all due respect, how did you come up with the name TooSlow?
What is your background (skills wise)?
you did mention this is not original or new, what do you mean by that?

please forgive me if I misspoke.
Thanks!

No, it's a method I don't post here on ForexFactory.

I use MT4 as a charting platform. Each method has its own set up. I take the signals from these set ups and then place my live trades completely separately on my live broker.

It is difficult at the moment for traders based in the US as far as finding a good broker, for sure.
