Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie and I know nothing is easy and you have to really learn...I read the 5 steps pdf on post one and relate to it well. I just want to say that this thread is effing long...reading 1000 posts a day, will take me 80+ days!!! I hate you guys!

I also know trading without learning will build false confidence and i'll be in the red pretty soon...back to page 30...hope to be posting back towards this end of the thread in a couple months lol.

Sonic thanks for the system, I am sure there will be more people to thank as I go through the posts.

What do you mean by point no. 2 ie. long 1 to 2 o'clock, short 4 to 5 o'clock, avoid 3 o'clock ranging?

Hello!

I am using the Sonic R System like it is described on page 1 for quite a while and read the first 100 pages. But I am still not profitable. I can't figure out what my mistakes are.
I am interested in what happened to this system that it is so different from the first pages to the current version? It does not use any indicators except for EMA, though it used to use a couple of indicators. If this system was so profitable with those indicators, why is it not right now, that the system changed its rules? Did the markets change? Is the current version even more profitable? If so, what the h*** am I doing wrong?

Dmitry, could you please explain how you find entry points/ or maybe give some links about this srategy. I also use it and it shows good results, but it is always a problem to find the best entry. First of all wish to thank you for sharing your system Sonic. It literally changed how I look at trading, however using it on DAX unless one has a substantial capital, it is extremely hard to survive. Case in point was yesterday where it traveled more than 200 points up and down. I also believe that it will visit 12000 to end up the handle of the cup on weekly. Eventually it will break up from this formation for 13k and above. Forex pairs are much more manageable from what I could test.

Why does noone understand me... ? I did my no word say that I want a 100% system. What I am interested in is to know why the system changed from the beginning. If the system was profitable in the beginning, there must be a reason why it changed so much. From 2-3 indicators to no indicators at all. The question is not "why no indicators?". The question is "What happened that an adaption was necessary?".

If you were never profitable, then it means you are not trading when the market is trending. At the core of the system there is the swinging highs or lows and the direction of the tunnel. Sonic stated that the angle is crucial, namely to never trade when it is around 3 o'clock since the market would be ranging. Secondly, one must apply a bit of price action and also reasonable SLs that can withstand market swings. Avoid news as volatility can decimate the trade.

Regards the extra indicators, I guess other indis were introduced to filter out trades and keep one out. Remember that the market is 70% of the time more or less ranging.

what is the timezone for the 3 o'clock ranging market so I can avoid it. Thanks

Trading for around the first 3 hours of the European and US sessions usually should lead to good trades by using m5. However it is not always the same as when news are being waited for, both bulls and bears are waiting for news results, so the market will oscillate between 2 zones. I suggest to use PA to confirm this and check the slope of the tunnel. At the end, emotions play an important role too since being greedy can slaughter you out.

The last pattern is wrong. It follows the attached pattern as per the Elliott Wave principle.

I think my biggest problem is that I am missing some clues that belong to the current version of the system. I have a list of things to be checked before entering. However, this list might be incomplete or slightly wrong.
I want to share some part of it, that I found to be questionable.
1) Sonic uses 2 EMAs 34 and 89 as far as I know. These vary from version to version and thread to thread (regarding sonic r system and momentum strategies). I use 50 EMA and 200 EMA. For shorts they both need to be down and 50 EMA needs to be below 200 EMA. As for sonics version it should be 34<200, right? How are these two actually related? What is recommend to do with two (concerning averaging period and relation to each other)?

2) I am using an indicator that highlights when the angle is good. However this means, that I get a signal (for shorts) as early as the very first period is pointing at 4 / 4.30 / 5. I dont wait until several consecutive periods point at 4 / 4.30 / 5. You know what I mean?

3) I am not so certain with the SL rule. Is the SL for shorts above the beginning of the first leg or above the ending of the second / beginning of the third leg? Is trailing recommended?

Chris I did not use the system based on the indis only but also PA. If I am understanding well, you are not including swings for SL. I use the previous swings as SL points. Of course of the last swing is huge I avoid trading completely and look for another instrument. Also the tunnel is crucial in the sense that the price will visit it again. Look at the attached example. This is the current DAX on M15. The price hit the lower tunnel boundary again after penetrating it from below. The marked candle with an arrow is also a bullish pinbar so usually it indicates more buying pressure. IF the low of this candle was reached, it would be enforcing that a bearish trend has been enforced more (according to Nison). If we look at the tunnel, we can see it bending upwards. To be safe the SL I would set it to the previous swing low shown in red. Remember that a series of HH and HL indicate a bullish trend on the current time frame. Also the QQE on both M15 and H1 are showing. So this would indicate a high probability trade. Also one could enter at the breaking of the top of the tunnel and move SL where there is the yellow line instead, thus reducing risk, however as stated, QQE was showing an evident bullish movement, so I was confident in such a trade. As you can see am not relying 100% on indis. At the moment am trying to enforce my knowledge with Elliott Wave principle. I believe the Sonic system is more than enough to make it reading a chart easier and more consistent in the long term.

One more thing, I suggest to try to use some Forex Tester software using past data to sharpen your skills.
