Is it just me or 4H AUD is showing a slight different movement with gold?

I'm short at .7734.....

Price just exceeded a previous high set 16/2.

(Interestingly that red dotted line at .77134 can be traced back to market highs April & Nov 2016. Which could of course now become support if I'm wrong with my sell position!)

Entered short at 0.77207, it's not doing a lot but providing the usdx keeps rising then so will my profits :-)

Just looked at iron ore chart and yesterday showing a 5% drop in price (daily chart). Opening at 699, closing 663. (I realise these are vastly different prices to what others have quoted recently (eg $90/ton) but it's what's on my broker and I don't know why the difference, although quoted article link may have the answer ie my broker quotes in Yuan/ton??)

Iron ore dropping that much may be a precursor to us finally getting a decent A/U drop, which is also speculated in quoted article link.

AUD/CHF WEEKLY

Been waiting 6 weeks for this Wolfe wave to reach the "sweet zone." Full AB =CD completion takes place at .7833 which happens to be right at my bread and butter 141.4FIB. However on the daily, there is an AB = CD completion with almost perfect structure that has completed to within 10 pips.

It's hard to trade against this carry but when the "Wolfe" howls, I must respond

I am building a long term short with small positions from .7775 to .7825 with stops at .7875

Saw this on another thread about iron ore, interesting read. Robust production with excess inventory being overlooked due to potential for continued strong demand?

According to Metal Bulletin, the spot price for benchmark 62% fines tumbled 3.14% to $91.34 a tonne, accelerating on the 0.6% slide recorded in the prior session.
It was the largest one-day percentage decline since January 6.

whats the weight towards AUD... and whats the lag? is there any chart?

I'm glad to share Mate! At current levels after so many rejections in .77 region we're all in the same boat with shorts. I was going to try to find live iron ore . I'll check. Fundamentally If iron ore drops more today with week closing it will be hard for A/U rise.

Im not trading the AUD at the moment. Is has brushed of hawkish statements by the Fed and dovish statements by the RBA. All the AUD is doing, is moving in tandem with iron ore.

Im looking at other pairs, were inflation and interest rate differential is the most important aspect in price direction.

I can't find live iron on my platform and google searches end with offers to sell me subscriptions to access live prices. I've run out of time at the present. I can't answer your previous question re. weighting towards A/U. But definitely Oz's single biggest export earner, especially at these high levels. So single biggest daily impact on Oz financials, including government royalties and taxes. So correlating influence on A/U. Iron down, should cap A/U.

I Am seeing the aud at 78 .. I can only see higher lows and yes it is being rejected at many levels above 77 which I use to short the pair intraday
fundamentals are proving to me how useless the are after 10 years of watching the market. Or at least they seem to act medium term not short term. Once I make lots of pips which for now I am making I will show my view. So far I have not made enough to to confident to share it
iron ore ton is at 86 Sth that Is the chart I see
