While recent remarks from Congressional leadership and the White House put the timetable for tax reform over the summer, there appears to be some expectation for the President to make a major announcement in his speech. Since this has been associated with USD buying, there is risk for a reversal should he fail to offer a detailed outline of his plans. Specifically, markets may be disappointed if there is no endorsement of border tax adjustments. AUD should be well positioned to benefit on this phenomenon”

Recession or not for Australia ?

That will be uncovered at 11.30am AEST

Prime Minister's popularity is steadily sliding and if this GDP number is negative well I suspect its the final nail in the coffin for his political life.

On the currency front there seems to be something large at 77 cents.

Intervention ? Option ?

Lets see what happens ..

We're seeing a very solid 70 pip drop in the last hours on the AUDUSD...

No chance, Iron ore picked up way too much for that to happen. It was the reason Au didn't have a recession in GFC.

I took shorts of A,B,C missed the D well... thats what she said anyway...
I rarely trade this pair so the only key levels I have is CC and TT
