I am sharing these screen shots to demonstrate why i think it is important to lock half profits starting from 200pips..

This is why I think it is very important we lock profits..In the above scenario for example , If I had locked in 150 when I was +366pips positive , I would have closed my basket for a profit of 150pips..I hope you ladies and gentlemen agree with me.

version 12 Profit lock explained

Several have asked to for this and here it is..

Think of StartProfitLockAt as the starting point in pips where the EA starts to
lock profit.
Think of TrailingLockEvery as the increment pips that profit must make before the EA moves the lockprofit.

Example:
StartProfitLockAt=300 (that's when EA starts locking)
TrailingLockEvery=100 (delta that profit must move up before EA moves lock)

basket or
Individual_pair profit: ________ Lock Profit at:
<300 pips ________ ________ Do nothing
+300 pips ________ ________ 150 pips
+400 pips ________ ________ 200 pips
+500 pips ________ ________ 250 pips
+600 pips ________ ________ 300 pips
etc

Example2:
StartProfitLockAt=450 (that's when EA starts locking)
TrailingLockEvery=180 (delta that profit must move up before EA moves lock)

basket or
Individual_pair profit: ________ Lock Profit at:
<450 pips ________ ________ Do nothing
+450 pips ________ ________ 225 pips
+630 pips ________ ________ 315 pips
+810 pips ________ ________ 405 pips
+990 pips ________ ________ 495 pips
etc

I am trying to emulate the set of inputs you show but only with the need of using 2. Let me know if my previous post where I explain the 2 new inputs if that satisfies the image you provided.

Although in what you present, that would allow the user to set different targets and locks, but only up to 3 iterations.
Version 12, using the 2 new inputs, will continue moving the lock with the indicated input settings automatically.

I think your profit locker is great xmess7!

@ forexpinbar, if you want to use the dashboard to take care of the trades, you can, by giving the trades the same magic number as the dashboard uses.
That way if you set StartProfitLockAt=0 and set the TP and SL values very high in xmess7 EA the trades will be controled bij the dashboard EA.
Persistence will get it. Consistency will keep it.

not exactly.your sl still 200 pips and you take 150 pips Profit,not good RR

Guys can u post a step by step how to setup pls?
I opend a micro account and im gonna test it with 5 euros i tink its time to see how it works with real money.
Btw how do u setup to have that cool reports has forexpinbar showing

This would be true only on the first iteration. After that the profit lock would be 1:1 and greater.
So the question is, what is the probability that a profit lock of 150 pips be hit x amount of times? If it is high then yes there is a POSSIBILITY that your R:R will affect in the long run your equity curve. I say possibility cause in the same manner the user could cut the losses before it hits -150 pips. In which case the R:R then might not affect the long term outcome.

Folks:
As I see it, the approach doesn't really need anything more, other than observing profit . The trade explorer clearly shows that the approach is averaging around 1% a day, which is perfect. If the trade explorer shows us 1.5 more more months of the same, then we have a high probability profit machine . Especially since it takes literally no time to setup the trades (manual or not). Plus it is SOOOOO stress free... The EA should be called Stress_Free_Profit_Monitor LOL.

I plan to start testing this approach next week. I am especially curious to see if setting the profit targets to the each individual trade will yield the same consistency as the original approach does. mjavedh chart shows that his variation made over 17% in a 2 day period, whereas the original approach took about a month to do that.
The key then is to see if mjavedh variation is consistent and how probable. I would not aim for 17% but 10% for the week. Why 10%? Cause if the probability of it hitting over 15% in the same week is say greater than say 70%. Then the probability of getting 10% is higher. So my chances of getting 10% may be close to 90% or event 95%. We just need forward tested data, preferable live data.

Live data testing is the best way.. Demo just don't cut it

For brokers who have some sort of suffix to the pairs in the market watch, do we have to change the pair names in the EA accordingly? for example: EURUSD.SB

Nope the ea detects the suffixes and prefixes. It will also activate the symbol if for whatever reason it is not active or seen in the market watch window.

Thank you for the explanation XMess but unfortunately I still dont understand how to use this profit lock features you just added to the EA....Lets say for instance ,I want to lock 100pips when I am 200pips positive , or I want to lock 150pips when I am 300pips positive or I want to lock 200pips when I am 400pips positive , how do I enter these in the new EA?Thank you

i tried to make the inputs intuitive:
StartProfitLockAt=300 can be read like this
Start (to) ProfitLock At +300 pips
then when that happens TrailLockEvery=100 can be read as:
Trail Lock Every +100 pips.

So EA only starts to set profit locks after profit has is above +300pips. It then continues to move the profitlock up every time 100 more pips are reached.
I think this is where u may of got confused. The lock is always have the max profit. That i hard coded into the ea.
So if your total basket is say 1000 pips and it is timeto move the profitlock, the ea will set the new lock to 500 pips. Its like u described it in one of yer posts, lol

Basket stopped out at -200.
It was up over +400.
