Useful information - quite often I find NZD can lead and follow the Aussie.

Other types of correlation I have come across are:

NZD- Dairy prices
AUD- Iron ore (and to a lesser extent coal prices)
CAD- Oil

Some with surprising ends. My several margin calls were quite related to pound.....and never mind that very next day trend resumes. Miracle!!!  
 
My point was - never to trust political animals, never trade/buy pound. I'm staying in EU thread but we are co-related
